1. Topic : Poor sleep linked to dementia and early death, study finds
2. Theme : Health

3. Main Ideas :

Older adults who have significant difficulty falling asleep and who experience frequent night awakenings are at high risk for developing dementia or dying early from any cause, a new study finds.

"These results contribute to existing knowledge that sleep plays a very important role, each and every night, for reducing our longer term risk for neural cognitive decline and all cause mortality," said study author Rebecca Robbins, an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School who specializes in sleep research.

The connection between sleep, dementia and early death from any cause is especially worrisome, experts say, due to the sleep habits of Americans and people around the world. According to the World Sleep Society, sleep deprivation is threatening the health of up to 45% of the world's population.

Depending on our age, we are supposed to get between seven and 10 hours of sleep each night. But one in three Americans don't get enough sleep, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In addition, 50 million to 70 million Americans struggle with sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia and restless leg syndrome, which can ruin a good night's shuteye.

The CDC calls that a "public health problem," because disrupted sleep is associated with a higher risk of conditions including diabetes, stroke, cardiovascular disease and dementia.

4. WHAT WE CAN DO :

Medical science has no current cure for dementia, but there are things you can do to reduce your risk.

Stop smoking, drink only in moderation if you drink at all, eat a well balanced diet, exercise, stay mentally active and keep your blood pressure and cholesterol levels in check are excellent ways to keep brains and bodies healthy, experts say.

You can also tackle any sleep problems by training your brain for better sleep. Experts call it "sleep hygiene," and suggest setting a bedtime routine designed to relax and soothe, which includes no TV, smartphone or other blue-light emitting device at least one to two hours before bed.

Other tips include having a comfortable bed and pillow, keeping the bedroom cool, quiet and dark and avoiding caffeine and alcohol for hours before bed.

5. MY OPINION :

Our health is really important. We can live with 1000 problems at the same time we also have to give the importance to our health. So i suggest all the people whoever reading this article to take care of your health. We can earn money anytime. We have to hardwork for it. But we cant let our health aside by focusing in work or other issues. We can earn many later in many ways but how about our life? we cant get back of it again. Its like a one contract and we people must need to think and mean it as an aspect of our life also as a silver lining for see the smile and happiness in the human faces.

<sub>
</sub>

higher

Theme: Health
Topic: Salute Our Frontliners
Main ideas: Our frontliners are faced with deaths, as the number of Covid-19 fatalities rise. Most of them especially doctors and nurses have resigned because they are too tired. There should be more initiatives and campaigns to show our appreciation for their sacrifice. For example, many communities are doing a daily salute to frontliners by lighting candles and applauding their efforts. There are many ways to thank our fronliners such as donating a meal to the hospitals, vaccination and quarantine centres. We must stay home and venture out only when necessary to limit the spread of Covid-19.
Opinion: I enjoyed reading this article because even though our frontliners are tired, they still carry on working to save patients' life.We must do something to help their efforts such as wearing masks and following SOPs like physical distancing.

Theme : Education

Topic : How to get kids excited about online learning

Main Ideas :

1) First, parents may have to purchase extra electronic devices. Having a good device is essential for effective online learning, especially for parents with more than one child. Although this comes at a cost, such parents have no choice but to invest in these tools. However, many are now available at affordable prices.

2) Second, parents should prepare a comprehensive online class timetable for their children. This can be drafted based on the PdPR (home-based teaching and learning) timetable provided by the school. However, parents should ensure that free slots are given to them as continuous online learning can be tiring. Once the timetable is regulated, the children will be accustomed to it and it will become a routine.

3 ) Third, parents should consider giving leisure breaks to their children. Being at home all the time and going through online classes continuously can be stressful for the children. Hence, allow the children to have break times and fun-based activities with siblings and parents.

This will help ease their stress and ensure they do not feel detached from the family. This inclusiveness is an essential element in family bonding.

Opinion :
I really enjoyed reading this article and
I think this topic is quite important right now because due the pandemic covid -19 all students around the world have to stay at home and must to join the online learning and need to focus with lessons . All students need to have the effort and parents need to engage their children in online learning so as not to be left behind in lessons . Many benefits though we learn online as parents can also control their children when they are learning and help them if they didn't understand some question or anything else .

Theme:People
Topic: International Friendship Day

Main ideas: This modern 21st century world that is fraught with challenges, crises and forces of division that can threaten peace, security, development and social harmony among the world's people. During this pandemic covid-19, we need friendship to sustain our sense of being and our mind. International Friendship Day should stand for friendship and camaraderie among countries, where the strong help the weak and the rich aid the poor. For example, rich countries can donate vaccines to poor countries. By promoting friendship, countries can have mutual respect for one another, develop trust and build bridges which can save humankind. The world needs friendship to achieve lasting stability and to come out stronger post-pandemic.

Opinion: I find this article very interesting because I have learnt the importance of friendship, not just limited to our own friends and communities, but to include countries around the world. We must help each other to overcome difficulties especially during this pandemic.

How whales help cool the Earth

1. Topic : How whales help cool the Earth

2. Theme : Environment

3. Introduction :

Seeing a whale stranded on a beach often provokes a strong reaction. It can make people curious – beached whales can do strange things, like explode. It can also be upsetting to witness a creature so magnificent in water reduced to lifeless blubber on land. What rarely registers, however, is the lost opportunity for carbon sequestration. Whales, particularly baleen and sperm whales, are among the largest creatures on Earth. Their bodies are enormous stores of carbon, and their presence in the ocean shapes the ecosystems around them.

4. Main Ideas :

Whales are not only valuable in death. The tides of excrement that these mammals produce are also surprisingly relevant to the climate. Whales feed in the deep ocean, then return to the surface to breathe and poo. Their iron-rich faeces creates the perfect growing conditions for phytoplankton. These creatures may be microscopic, but, taken together, phytoplankton have an enormous influence on the planet's atmosphere, capturing an estimated 40% of all CO2 produced – four times the amount captured by the Amazon rainforest.

The beauty of restoring whale populations, is that there is plenty of space in the ocean? space once filled with whales? Restoring whale populations to their pre-whaling numbers could be an important tool in tackling climate change, sequestering carbon both directly and indirectly, and thus helping to make a small dent in the enormous volume of CO2 emitted by fossil fuels every year. The resulting plumes of whale poo would also vastly outstrip the potential of ocean iron fertilisation. It would take 200 successful blooms per year to match the potential of a fully restored whale population, according to Pershing's study.

5. Opinion :

Tens of millions of whales have been killed, and experts believe that populations may have declined from anywhere between 66% and 90%. Marine life is really important for the stability of ecosystem. As a human who have some care on our environment, we should not support the illegal murders in the oceans and spread some awareness about marine life to all over the world. We have to throw our voice not only as a social care person, also as a person who have responsibility towards our mother nature for a happy future of the coming generation. Put the love and care as the way you look at the waves of ocean, enjoying the wind in the seaside. Dont be selfish and let the world become a dessert with no human beings.

No water no life, No blue no green
