-       Medical studies and dentistry: UKCAT (the UK Clinical Aptitude Test) test necessary prior to UCAS deadline. During the interview sessions for short-listed candidates  some relevant work experience and strong personality traits (integrity, team work, problem-solving skills) are expected
-       Oxford and Cambridge Universities run their separate application procedure: an aptitude test from English, Literature, Philiospophy and History, followed by an interview sessions for the selected candidates
-       Art and Design courses: a portfolio of student’s work. Some departments require a Foundation Course in related subjects
-       Nursery,  Midwifery and Social Work: pre-testing required  and some practical background 
-       Performing Arts: auditions for candidates as specified by particular departments
