Small Group Sharing. It boost my confidence when talking to people that i dont even know. I remember the day when my partner told me to handle the group, i was kinda nervous but still i made it and that is the most memorable thing that happen to me in Alpha Session.

For me, knowing the life story of a stranger. Because some of my groupmates' (back then) life story is inspiring.

It's akin to being both a sheep and a mini-shepherd. We get to amazingly play together with fellow flock-mates, while also humbly mentoring those entrusted to our care. A very meaningful experience, indeed --- inspiring ... animating ... empowering ...

Alpha is like a book, the more you read about it the more knowledge you'll gain. It can also be a coffee, because the people inside the alpha can be your comfort whenever we feel alone or unworthy. And it is such an amazing journey for me, because I can get a chance to know more people and their stories about their lives and experiences. The best thing about alpha is that no one will judge you for who and what you are, you just have to be yourself and express it. I can't wait to gain more knowledge and to have new friends in alpha.

Hearing different stories and life experiences from my brothers and sisters reminds me of how beautiful life is. Each participants brings a lot of joys and graces. I do not hide my scars, instead I share it to others as a manifestation how God protected and heal my wounds in every single day.

It is a safe space. Everyone can share without fear of judgment. Every time we share our stories, we share part of ourselves to others - our success and joy, and even our failures and pain. Someone is there to listen and they also have their own story to tell. As we listen, we also discover inspiring stories other's daily lives and their encounter with God. Everyone have their chance to speak and to listen.

Listens to understand

Just recently I joined a Zoom meeting and what struck me is that people tend to listen to be understood and not to understand. I am sometimes one of them, one who listens to prepare for a response. But in Alpha sessions, I think I'm a different person. I learned to be a listener. I listen to understand what others have conquered and what they have been going through. There is no pressure of responding or answering. Participants were sharing their stories because I believe we all felt that someone truly listens. - Airah

The most memorable experience I had with Alpha was meeting new people who embodies Christ in the simplicity of life. Most especially, being prayed for and included despite not being able to attend some of the schedules due to work. I felt Christ was alive through my groupmate's effort and I was inspired by each other's Gospel of life.
