It is lamentable that climate change has not reached a political consensus despite the near complete consensus of the scientific community. The future of the world and its inhabitants rests on the policies of a select few leaders.

What the USA should represent is a beacon, an ideal, that other countries follow through mutual cooperation and bilateral negotiations. What the USA absolutely does not need is a climate-change denier who believes that the USA (and the world) should do less to solve this grave issue.

As the articles have shown shown, Donald Trump is not a person who can be trusted to do anything less than ravage international agreements and domestic regulations to prop up a declining fossil fuel industry. The billionare-made-politician who described himself as a man of the people is now undermining the safety and future of his people for the sake of letting oil companies make more profits.

This will not be easily prevented. Donald will not want to disappoint his supporters without sufficient reason. But he also will not risk his legitimacy in the eye of the people if put under pressure to moderate his stance. Protests, marches, lobbying, special interest groups, and major countries in the global stage can all resist. Alone, they will accomplish nothing. But every environmental regulation he decides to keep is worth working toward.

For generations, the increase in climate change has impacted the world in it entirety. We must take responsibility for our actions and begin to take the initiative to counteract our actions, in which we must decrease the rate the climate is increasing. In regards to President elect Donald J. Trump believing this event is a “hoax”, this is an irrational accusation. Scientific evidence has proven the increase in climate change, which may also be referred to as global warming. Many organisms and ecosystems have been impacted negatively by this drastic change in the environment. For example, the Great Barrier Reef has suffered from coral bleaching. Coral bleaching primarily occurs when there is a minor increase in the temperature of water. The increase in water temperature is a direct result from global warming. Every country is responsible for this change in our daily lives, especially the United States which can be seen as being influenced by industrial powers. The private sector emits carbon emission into the atmosphere, causing a problem in our ecosystem as a whole. In conclusion, we believe the United States should be held responsible for their actions.

Despite the fact that global warming and climate change have been proven by professionals since 1904, and the fact that over 85% of scientists acknowledge the effects of this phenomenon, there are still people that refuse to accept it. And unfortunately, one of those people is Donald Trump, the man scheduled to be the next POTUS. I believe alot of this repudiation comes from both a place of ignorance and a place of irresponsibility. People don't like to believe that there existence on Earth can have a negative or detrimental impact on the world around them. Also In addition to this irresponsibility that people take on, few are knowledgeable of the facts. When you ask someone why they don't believe in global warming, why they don't believe in climate change, their typical answer will be something along the lines of "How can global warming exist if it's getting colder outside?". But as my AP Biology once told me, global warming is an inaccurate naming of the phenomenon because the release of carbon into the atmosphere not only causes the Earth to warm up, but the weather patterns to be more severe as the Earth adjusts to this change. If the nations that make up this planet continue to emit carbon dioxide into the environment at the rate they do, hundreds of animal species will decline withing the next decades, and soon humans will follow and it will be too late.

But, scientists thinks that people should face our problems, instead of ignoring them like Mr. Trump. Climate change is real, and human activity since the industrial revolution appears to be at least partly to blame for it. 2016 was set to be the hottest year on record. Many nations have expressed hopes the United States will stay.

Global warming is a worldwide problem that all powers in the world have to work against. Although many individuals agree with our stance on this issue, not all countries in this world are as willing to solve this issue. We must accept that not everyone is going to agree, and start to make efforts to fix this problem. Therefore, if one country is not willing to accept these issues this should not prevent other countries from coming together and working to stop global warming. It is almost immature for other countries to just say they aren't going to do anything because America isn't. Take a stand! Just because America is leaving the Paris climate agreement doesn't mean that other countries can't work for it. Yes, we all know Trump does not believe in climate change. Could it be possible that he has information that the public does not know of? For all we know he could know that this world will be uninhabitable in 30 years and maybe he doesn't want to start a mass panic. Maybe we are just being hopeful, but hopefulness doesn't infer being wrong.

Although global warming is thought to be fake by some individuals not including me the motion to further protect the environment should still be accepted weather people believe in global climate change or not. The worldwide movement towards conservation is moving slowly but is in many places very successful. I believe governmental action should be an important part of it at both the national and local levels. The clean water act has been widely successful there are several species of fish that have in the last ten years returned to New York harbor as well as several plants and bird species. The Cormorant was a birds that had virtually disappeared from New York and the increase in the fish population due to cleaner conditions is working its way up to the birds. In the first 100 days as president there should be set fourth new more modernized national laws regarding particularly chemical pollutants. A new initiative can also be taken to promote offshore wind farms. In Connecticut the issue was the loss of fishing grounds but if there was a national law allowing the same availability as the laws for oil platform fishing they would be more widely accepted and result in an increase in fish habitat and provide a sustainably source of energy with minimal impact on the marine environment.

Climate change is very much real and it should be acknowledged by the Trump Administration. It has been scientifically proven that this phenomenon exists and that it will inevitably negatively impact the entire human population in the near future. Efforts on behalf of the United States should be taken to push environmental reform as soon as possible. The Kyoto Protocol has not been ratified by Presidents George Bush, Clinton, or Obama. This protocol extends the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and it should be noted that no action has been taken to continue to further develop this legislation. Although the United States has not passed any laws in regards to climate change, Obama has taken several steps towards a green movement.
http://www.politico.com/agenda/story/2016/11/environmentalists-get-a-dose-of-good-news-000233?cmpid=sf

Donald Trump this and Donald Trump that, all these kids around me keep talking about how he does this and how he doesn't do that, THEY ARE ALL WRONG! They should be looking bigger, we have systems set in place to encourage change in our environmental system. Complaining about some random rich president and how he doesn't acknowledge the issue wont do anything. As Gandhi said, you have to BE THE CHANGE, not ask for it! Just simply join organizations that demand change from Trump, and keep encouraging people to take part of it. Interest groups are the seeds to start change and these seeds wont grow if they aren't planted. In the past Gay marriage was hated and despised. People started protesting and advocating for change and now look at our modern day society, being gay is practically the norm. If anyone wants change to lets say the environment, then we need to start initiating the change through protest and rallies. Not against one man whose president, put to protest for America to change. People didn't mainly protest Obama to help legalize Gay Marriage
and people shouldn't mainly protest Trump to try to get real progress with our Environmental dilemma. When people protest Trump, they only focus on Trump and how bad he is. When people protest about this environmental conflict, things will change if THAT is the main subject, that's
been the case for women;'s suffrage, gay rights, and black rights, history thankfully repeats itself. Basically, PROTEST THE PROBLEM, NOT THE PRESIDENT, TRY TO CHANGE THE PROBLEM OF THE ENVIRONMENT, NOT THE PROBLEM OF THE PRESIDENT!

The evidence supporting some element of human influence on climate is undeniable. The recent president-elect, Donald Trump, seems to neglect this evidence for no logical reason. It is understandable that some people may be hesitant to believe unsupported theories; however, once those theories have sufficient backing, there is no good reason to ignore the claims. Trump often ignores facts and replaces them with his personal opinions. This time, his childlike disregard for facts can have major, lasting effects. The United States has joined many major countries in the Paris Agreement, an agreement to reduce the effects that humans have on their environments. There is a common fear among environmentalists and everyday people alike that their worlds may be irreversibly changed if the president-elect pulls out of the Paris Agreement. One thing that has calmed some concerned people is the belief that other world countries will institute a “carbon tax” on any country that neglects the agreement. Donald Trump’s economic concerns for the nation may ultimately save the world. Whether or not the Trump administration continues Obama’s support for environmental protection, it is important for the everyday people to voice their opinions on the matter. If enough people truly believe that climate change is an imminent threat, we believe that they can incite change within the administration.

Donald Trump has, on multiple occasions, called global climate change a hoax, specifically created by China. But truthfully, climate change is a big problem that will be facing our planet, possibly in the near future. This is very concerning to have a president that will not take these threats seriously because, in the next 4-8 years, a lot of damage can be inflicted on the environment if the world keeps the track it's going on, with massive amounts of carbon emissions, trash production, etc. The environment is non-renewable; once it's gone, it's gone, and we all have to live here. The complete neglect by society for the well-being of the earth is unbelievable, because it's something we ALL have to deal with once the problem really takes off. Little things can help impede this problem, things we've all learned in school since 5 years old; recycling is the simplest and most convenient way to help that doesn't cause massive life changes. It's not so much a presidential issue, but the president is someone who is very influential to people, and if someone, like Donald Trump, wants to claim global warming is a hoax created by China with no other evidence to support this claim, he could bring people onto his side of argument, which will expedite the damage that will soon come. No one has to make drastic life changes, but little things will all make the world a better, cleaner and safer place to live in. What's the harm in trying?

Climate change is the number one problem facing our world today. For president- elect Trump to not even consider it's severity and outright denouncing it's existence from the beginning is baffling. Because CO2 is invisible people are hesitant to believe in it's deleterious effects - until it is too late. As we speak, numerous forest fires are occurring and the polar ice caps are melting. Each of the first six months of 2016 set a record as the warmest respective month globally in the modern temperature record, which dates back to 1880. A problem as big as this demands our immediate and unrelenting attention as well as huge firepower - like the U.S. government's involvement. It's not enough for the people who are educated on climate change do partake in their individual ways to help, we have to show everyone the science and the government is the biggest medium to convey the facts. Having someone like Donald Trump who doesn't believe in facts- whether they are science related or what he's said on twitter in the past- isn't helpful when the goal is to find common ground no matter what political party you are on, because if we don't the ground itself will not exist due to climate.

i think the issue of climate change has been huge on us as a globe. i think universally, the world can almost unite against this. If we do not make a push against this, due to the hostility from enemy countries and issues with other groups, then we will work individually and not really be able to sustain life here. i feel as if its an issue to leave here for future generations. I know that since i was in elementary school thus has been an issue that has s not been solved. think of the election this year, with such unpopular candidates. think of how big of a push there was to vote this year. if there was that big of a push for the environment, then we could keep slowing this unavoidable issue. i think if donald trump can open his eyes and lean on ways he has with his wall, with it being a fence in some areas, then there will be an easier push for it. i feel as if the people of the united states may also come together to show him. these protests caused nationwide attention, whereas global warming is on the back burner. I feel we could put our energy more towards a greener and safer environment for all if we get our priorities straight and heads in gear.

As with many other issues, we disagree with Donald Trump’s stance on global warming. He claims that global warming is a “hoax.” Further, he also accused China for creating the global warming frenzy. There is no harm in supporting the Paris agreement with the rest of the world. In fact, as a world power, the United States should lead by example in energy efficiency and alternative energy sources. You cannot point fingers at other countries for not doing anything when your own country has done little to curb carbon dioxide emissions. The costs associated with becoming a green country are ultimately offset by the resulting benefits. Global warming is evident, and the fact that Trump cannot accept scientific facts is concerning and alarming. He is not asked to support a theory or a possible fact; instead, he is asked to recognize scientific fact with quality supporting evidence. We believe his rejection of global warming is highly business related. Becoming green may mean cutting some high-production companies that do not adhere to environmental regulations and requirements. In 2015, Fox News asked him, “Who’s going to protect the environment?” His response: “We'll be fine with the environment. We can leave a little bit, but you can't destroy businesses.” He explicitly says that protecting the environment would mean destroying businesses, implying that they are harmful to the environment, but we must maintain them because they contribute to our GDP.

We believe that as president, Trump should take global warming much more seriously. He blames it on politics and calls the whole idea of climate change/global warming a “hoax”. John Kerry said he wants to keep his efforts to maintain the US involvement in the Paris agreement. Trump plans to withdraw the country from the agreement and we believe that is a terrible idea. A country involved in the Paris agreement is not obligated to act upon anything, they just have to submit climate change pledges. So, even if Trump does not wish to act upon anything, he should still keep the US in the agreement to maintain the integrity of our country’s role within environmental affairs.

Since the tech industry is booming with new innovations daily, we feel that people only expect that something will come out soon that will be able to "fix" everything.
With Trump as well as other number of political figures that do not believe in climate change, people have become careless in only leaving this problems to figures in charge. With the Paris agreement, one of two decisions that will work in the best interest for everyone would be the United States either staying in the agreement, or leaving only to create a better policy/plan that would also incorporate the teamwork of all other nations of the world. Ultimately, whatever the United States decides to do , it's evident that other nations will follow our example, especially due to the amount of impact we have on smaller nations that are influenced by our culture, politics, and actions.

These actions and words are extremely harmful, especially coming from the PEOTUS. If we, as the citizens of the United States, don't do anything to fight Trump's beliefs on the subject, progress will remain stagnant for the next four years. He's already stated that he will not honor the Paris Agreement, but Trump is known for flip-flopping on his beliefs and statements. If enough Americans, and even people from other countries, come together and fight Donald Trump on his foolish statements regarding climate change, maybe we can change his course of action in these next four years.

This is quite evident when you see nations like India and China suffering from polluted air filled with carbon dioxide and/or sulfur dioxide. So, for Trump to say that global warming is a hoax is extremely scary as a future generation of this country. Also, if we are to stay in the agreement the U.S. needs to stop with the hypocrisy and lead by example by using clean energy before criticizing third world countries, for attempting to industrialize for advancement. The U.S. needs to learn how to take a step back from the power position, and find their own faults before policing others.

The Paris Summit was a great achievement. Global warming exists whether you believe in it or not and it will affect everyone. The fact that the future leader of the free world is against it is horrifying. If he can’t support the Paris Treaty, then he does not support the wellbeing of our environment. This should not be a political issue, it is a world issue. Humans have caused a problem that we must take responsibility for and work to fix. Donald Trump needs to see the light on this issue and I hope that he will when surrounded by well-informed, reasonable individuals. However, I fear this will not occur. What with his choice of Cabinet Members, it seems the next four years will be a struggle. He has chosen Myron Ebell as the head of the Environmental Protection Agency. This is proving to be problematic, due to the fact that he doesn’t believe in climate change. However, we must remember that the US government is not a “one-man-show.” Many people who understand the dangers of this issue still possess great power. While this is not an excuse for complacency, it is hopeful.

To start, it is easy to understand both sides of the argument regarding President- Elect Trump and his teams action to vow to cancel the Paris agreement. The agreement was put into order by President Barack Obama and will last for 5 years with no obligation to accomplish the set goals. President- Elect Trump feels as if the agreement enables for other countries to have control of the United of States. To help foreign affairs, just like Trump articulates, we must understand that we must help or work on our own people and country first. That entails fixing public goods such as bridges, the power grid, the water supply, and welfare of the people. On the contrary, we also understand that the United States is the world’s second largest emitter and is responsible for close to 15 percent of all global emissions according to ABC News. We also understand that to make a change in such a global impact we must work together just like we do in the trading business. The Environmental Protection Agency must have a more prominent say and a part of the process in which the articles in the pre- reading section failed to include. To end, nobody in the argument is necessarily wrong because both can present factual information.

Climate change is a reoccurring issue that some people completely disregard because they feel that it doesn't affect us. I feel that the people don't really touch upon it because of that persona that it's not gonna happen to them in their lifetime so why deal with it now. Mr. Trump doesn’t feel that acting on climate change should be a main priority an example of this is him trying to withdraw from the Paris agreement. The melting of the ice caps and depletion of the ozone layer will soon have an even greater impact on us than it has ever had. Due to all the emissions we give off we’ve had temperature changes from 60 degrees one day to 30 degrees the next. It's a serious issue that will destroy us as a whole. Mr. Trump believes that its all a hoax and is going to make this world more industrial which would create more emissions in the end putting us in a hole that we won't be able to dig out of. I feel that we as schools have the power and can impact on pushing towards something to create more awareness for this common problem.

I believe that climate change is becoming a serious issue in recent years. Donald Trump has said that he will not do much to help with the issue of climate change. He will also try and get us out of the Paris Agreement. The main goal of this agreement is to keep the global temperature above 2 degrees Celsius. If not, the world could experience crazy things such as another ice age. The United States contributes to about 18% of the pollution. This is a large percentage and we need to take control of what we do to our environment. We must implement things such as solar energy, wind energy and or reducing fossil fuels to reduce the pollution we put into the air. Without the support of Trump , this goal will be hard to accomplish and climate change will continue to escalate into a more serious issue. Trump needs to stop being ignorant to this fact and realize that matters need to be taken to help solve climate change in the US and other countries.

But, I don't believe that it is much of a problem that Donald Trump believes it is a hoax. That is because a lot more people believe in climate change than people who don't and Trump will eventually change his view on it based on the people that surround him including his supporters just like any other politician on any social view.

The President Elect of the U.S. Donald Trump seems to not care about dealing with the current situations we have with climate change. Climate change shouldn't be something our future president should ignore. He plans to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement which Obama did agree with. All countries should be concerned about the climate change that our world is experiencing. We should worry about the future of the world because eventually we will have to live with the effects that climate change will eventually create. Improving people's jobs and lowering taxes may be important, but the environment around us is also as important. Even if this Paris climate agreement does not work, Donald Trump should still try to give it a chance.

However, I believe that he is doing the right thing by focusing on the United States and its people while he is in office. Climate change is a very important issue in this world but at the moment the United states has many more difficulties that we must take care of before we start to worry about other people. I think Donald Trump should focus on getting America out of debt and creating more jobs before worrying about climate change. There are countless numbers of people that will always be people striving to fix climate change but the United States only has one president that must run the entire country.

Global warming will never fully be fixed due to the fact that the whole world will never use clean energy, considering developing countries need to use fossil fuels in order to develop into a modern society. Despite these smaller countries needing to use fossil fuels, the United States joined the Paris Treaty in order to further help the fight against global warming for our own county. Thus forth, leaving this treating would in fact put America at a disadvantage in the fight against Global Warming. While, there are other important issues to address in the government not handling global warming properly will eventually kill the human population. With this being said, not addressing global warming would make these other issues irrelavant.

It appears preposterous for you to formulate the idea that climate change would be a hoax developed by the Chinese government. Studies show that temperatures have been increasing in recent years and so have sea levels. This is rather concerning since this will impact our future generations and will have a lasting impact. Ways to prevent things like this from happening are to limit the emissions of greenhouse gases by switching to more renewable energy sources and by promoting green energy production via solar and wind productions. Creating carbon taxes on big corporations could not only increase the funding going to the federal government but will in the long run benefit the planet and help mitigate the effects of climate change.

He is more worried about the other nations and building a wall, but if global warming happens he's not going to be prepared and able to build a wall. There are statistics and data that show global warming is going to happen, but no one including Donald Trump does anything about it. Yes, nuclear weapons and ISIS are important, but so is global warming and Donald Trump needs to open his eyes and see that.

Global climate change is increasingly the greatest threat to the survival of the living beings on this earth. Not only are sea levels increasingly rising and global temperatures fluctuation in an unprecedented manner, but we are seeing negative results in the lives of our earth indigenous creatures. Donald Trump's conjecture that climate change is a "hoax" is an absurd and truly irresponsible notion, created by someone who is supposed to be the leader of the free world, and fixing the problems of not only our country but the world. We are responsible as a human race to unite and cut back on illegal dumping and the burning of fossil fuels. We NEED to work towards reusable and renewable energy initiatives before it is too late. Donald Trump is a dangerous party in the matter of sustaining our world, because if we lose our habitats, there will be no "China," or "Hillary," or "taxes," we will die due to our own inaction.

After watching the video yesterday, we became more aware of the fact that the world needs to be taken care of equally as much as every living organism needs to be. We also realized that all of our actions are interrelated. What we do as humans, affect the air we breathe, the animals that also roam the Earth, and the things that grow around us. Referring to Donald Trump's viewpoint on the Paris agreement, we have serious concerns. Because whether he chooses to believe in Global Warming or not, he has to realize that he should become Environmentally Aware. There are animals that are still endangered and we suffer as a society and a world from major pollution problems. So, to conclude, the Paris Agreement would help to unify the world in acting towards one common goal, and to separate the US from it would be a tragedy.

According to Mr Frydenberg, "The US would have a major impact on the international agreements given it was responsible for close to 16 per cent of global emissions." The United States has a tremendous impact on the actions of other countries. The U.S. undeniably emits a significant amount of pollution which cannot be ignored or put on the back burner. While global warming may not be an issue now, it will affect future generations to come. Now is the time to act and Donald Trump has to power to do so. He can't ignore the facts that are right in front of him; we must make a difference now to positively impact the future of the world.

While im not sure if it is actually a problem i believe he should try and hear everyones opinion, and talk to scientists who have been tracking the climate for the past few years. Even if climate change does not exist i think it would be beneficial to all humans to try and move to a more efficient and cleaner form of energy. Backing out of the Paris agreement wouldn't help America when it comes to relations with other countries (200+). This is due to the fact that more than 200 countries have agreed on this plan and "simply" backing out of this could be a cause for a global disagreement. But in looking at the fact of climate change and realizing that this is no "hoax" i don't believe that politics should have a definite say in something that isn't in there specialty.

The issue that I'm most concerned about is that Donald Trump believes that global warming is a hoax. It's not. Global warming is having a negative impact on the whole world. This is a serious issue that shouldn't be taken lightly. This needs to be addressed by our political leaders. As a nation, we all need to take action and warn others about the dangers of global warming.

The President Elect of the United States, Mr. Donald Trump, believes that global warming is a "hoax". Trump also states that global warming as a whole is was not based on science whatsoever, but as a political consensus. This I believe is a terrible thing that our newly president is stating which ultimately makes me scared for the future. Trumps plan is to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement as soon as he takes office. As a nation it is our duty to stand up to what we believe in to counteract this action.

According to Mr. Frydenberg, "the United States is a global leader and what it does has a major impact on other country's thinking." We think it is detrimental towards our country as a whole to have a President who believes that climate change is a hoax because scientists have proven it is a real predicament. Therefore, having a President who doesn't believe we are facing these problems is not only bad for our country, but bad for others.

It concerns us that Donald Trump does not believe in Global Warming. This is a big threat to not only the USA, but the whole world. The fact that he wants to cut funding for the NASA's climate change budget, and instead invest it in researching Mars, gives us yet another reason to be concerned. Since this is such a big problem, we need to unite with other nations, stop this problem from happening, and saving the future of mankind. MAKE THE WORLD GREAT AGAIN!!!

The belief that global warming is a "hoax" within the Trump administration is alarming. It's evident throughout scientific research that global warming in fact, isn't a hoax. The only way, I personally believe, the people can convince Trump to not withdraw from the Paris agreement is provide evidence of how we've ALREADY initiated change from past agreement and projects. It is shown through research that, although we've done a lot of damage, we've also made progress in taking back what we've done. Some countries have turned to more "green" solutions and have contributed to changing our carbon footprint. If more countries came together and talked about what has been already, maybe Trump would be swayed to stay in the agreement. Also, considering the fact that the agreement itself doesn't bind our country to anything, it's more of a pledge than anything else.

President elected Donald Trump thinks that climate change is a hoax. He therefore wants to back out of the Paris climate change agreement. The US are responsible for 16% of green house emissions, which will affect the world greatly. Many climate change fighters find Donald Trump as president a threat to the Global "health".
