This lesson plan aims to teach and acquire the knowledge and skills to establish personal boundaries and gain personal and social developmental skills to secure effectiveness, for Middle School students.

The school counselor reviewed the school discipline data and identified an increase in discipline referrals related to behavior, conflict, self-regulation, and escalation (Walden Canvas, 2024)

The 6^th-grade teachers have shared that students are reporting continuous acts of inappropriate physical and verbal behavior among peers.

The behavior has taken place inside and out of sight of adults in and/or outside the school building. After conducting individual counseling sessions with 6^th-grade students involved and/or targeted by the behavior, the school counselor agrees.
