My goal is to have a positive legacy for the future generations of my family. To achieve this goal I have to work hard in school. I need to be focused and set achievable goals. An achieveable goal I have is to set a good example for my brothers.  They do not have a father figure to look after them and I want to help them out as  much as I can because I don't want them to struggle. I want to be a person they can look to for help on a rainy day. I can achieve this goal by being successful in and out of school and being an active participant in their lives. No matter what you do someone won't like it. But in life you have to ignore those people and do what makes you happy - whether it's eating whatever you want or coming out of the closet. I would bring the radio so I wouldn't feel so alone. This quote talks about how it is ok to not do whatever everyone else does. To me this quote tells me to live the life I want to live, not the life people tell me to live. Just because your friend jumps off a bridge doesn't mean you have to as well. I believe that everyone hears at least a slightly different drummer whether it's barely different or about as different as it gets. Everyone is unique and has their own thoughts and aspirations. One example of someone who has heard a different drummer is my friend Luke. The main character the Once-ler shows the effects of not following transcendentalism. Instead of having free-thought, he tries to conform and ends up becoming corrupt. The Lorax however speaks for nature, the good in people, and self expression. He believes in people so much he makes a deal with the Once-ler that he believes to be good enough. For instance, when I was in the car, the ride felt like it was going much slower than it usually does. Throughout the day, I noticed how much people go on their phones: whether it is listening to music or just answering texts. But in spite of the fact that people say communibcation is mostly through computers, there is still a lot of face to face interaction between peers.
