I have taught every course imaginable. 
As a Spanish teacher I loved helping students see the world differently and live for the moment they realize that it doesn't matter if you are perfect, it's completely fine to make mistakes! I started learning Spanish when I was a freshman in high school so, it's possible for anyone to start as long as they are willing to try!

Now as a DHSSSW I love helping students navigate the building and I am always here to help in any way that I can.

I received my Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Secondary Education from the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign (Go Illini!), a Master's in Educational Leadership from Aurora University, a Master's in Spanish from California State University- Sacramento and I am also a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. I love to study and learn and I think it helps me remember what it's like to be a student. 

When I grow up, I want to learn Italian (my grandpa was from Italy), how to play the piano, and how to make a really great apple pie. I LOVE to cook, run, play/watch soccer, spend time with friends & family and watch sports.

He is my favorite souvenir...well, besides my Salvador Dalì melting clock. We have 3 amazing kids: Luke, Ben and Lanie. I love my kids, but, because of them, almost the only shows I know are Paw Patrol, Pokemon and Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. I spent my junior year of college in Barcelona, Spain and to this day I keep in contact with friends I met- they even Zoom in to my classes sometimes! My MA in Spanish was a travel program so I spent one summer in Guatemala, one in Peru and one in Spain. It was a great way to learn about many different cultures and I would HIGHLY recommend studying abroad ANYWHERE you can during college! I have also visited, England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Mexico, Andorra, and Australia! I ate guinea pig (see above), llama and cow heart in Peru. Guinea pig wasn't my favorite but, the other two were surprisingly ok!

I once won a trip to Mexico on the radio!

I love The Office

My playlists are super eclectic: pop, country, rock, alternative, classical and rap... I'll listen to almost anything!

I loved all things pumpkin before Starbucks did

I worked as a lifeguard all through hs/college and once got an award for saving a woman's life

BG social studies teacher Mr. McCabe worked at my high school and was a chaperone on a field trip I took junior year, BG PE teacher Mr. Sullivan was the athletic trainer at my high school also!
