Work conflicts come in many forms. Among these are issues between an employer and an employee, grievance and co-workers' conflicts. Issues on interpersonal relationship can affect the efficiency of the employees and these results to a less productive business. If you are the person involved, learn more about United Kingdom Labour Law. They are Yate’s top experts.

The thing is, the earlier you deal with the conflict, the more time and money you will save as well. This also means less stress on the part of the employer and the employee. If conflicts are work will not be handled right away, this may result in a full-blown dispute.

Below are some of the common issues at work that needs to be addressed right away:

· Increased workload

· Past problems that are not resolved.

· Harassment and bullying.

· Unequal opportunities.

· Poor work environment

· Poor communications

· Unclear job roles

· Unfair treatment

· Insufficiently trained or ineffective management

Measures must be done by the employers to avoid possible conflicts are work. One is to train managers on how to handle situations, including difficult conversations with the workers. Also, expressions of opinions must be allowed freely. Everyone must be sensitive to the other person's feelings and the manager has to listen to what one's employee has to say. Managers must also focus on the interest of the person and not dwell on the personalities and positions. Another is to come up with stipulated rules that will serve as a guide for employees to ensure clear discipline and clear steps on how to deal with disputes or conflicts in the workplace. On the contract of employment, mediation must be written or the grievances or individual disciplinary procedure must be stipulated. If the manager feels that a professional help is needed, then he must hire one.

One concern of a manager is; dealing with an employee during a difficult conversation. A one on one conversation with a worker about a sensitive issue must be handled well and will require empathy on the part of the manager. The manager has to listen to the person sincerely and recognize that factor that causes one's stress or unhappiness. The person has to be asked in a calm manner to make him feel at ease and allow him to speak freely. It will also help to rephrase the person's statement so the problem can be seen in a different light. Managers need to teach by example and set the right tone so employees will follow his example. After all, teaching by example is the best way to help employees sustain a peaceful working atmosphere.

A good working atmosphere must be sustained in the office for the business to flourish. And without this, issues may arise that will affect everyone's work. Employers can prevent this by treating their workers with just and fairness. Employees, on the other hand, must perform as expected sustain a good relationship with their employer.
