Revolution is the movement of the Earth around the Sun. The Earth takes 24 hours to complete a rotation with respect to the sun. The Earth's axis of rotation is tilted by 23.5 degrees. This tilt causes the different seasons of the year. Earth orbits the Sun at an average distance of 149.60 million km, and one complete orbit takes 365.256 days, during which time Earth has traveled 940 million km.
