COVID precautions limited in-person students to no more than 10 per class. 61 students attended in the first week of class.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>This course, formerly known as GED-Prep 1, is a partnership between Literacy Green Bay and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC), and is designed to help learners fully develop the academic and digital literacy skills they will need to successfully transition into CCR2 and CCR3 coursework, with the ultimate goal of obtaining their GED. The course is offered on Literacy Green Bay’s campus and students attend an orientation session prior to enrollment. Trained adult tutors can provide additional support and onsite childcare is also available!<br></strong><br></div><div>&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The majority of our students work and were able to maintain employment through the pandemic. Many of our students who were not working at the beginning of 2021-22 became employed during the year. Of the 112 students in our lowest-level ELL classes, 51 reported not working at the beginning of the year. By the end of the year, 11 of those 51 (22%) reported that they began either full-time or part-time work.</div>]]></description>

         <title>New refugee students lead to strengthened community partnerships</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Starting in January, 2022 and continuing through the present, our numbers of refugee students has been increasing. We now have over 40 refugee students enrolled in our classes and our Adult Tutoring Program, from Afghanistan, the Ukraine, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Many of these students have been referred to us by community partners, such as Catholic Charities (Green Bay's refugee resettlement agency), Forward Services Corporation (our W-2 agency), and several local churches.</div>]]></description>
