I think it can be beneficial for parents to know if there are any abnormalities with their child because it may help them prepare for any special care the baby might need. I think it can also be dangerous and a bit risky because of the procedures of Genetic Testing.

I think genetic testing is beneficial so you can be prepared for every aspect of your baby's life and how your life will have to adjust once the baby is born. If you find out that the baby has a disorder, you might have to set aside more time and money for the baby in preparation for when it is born. But genetic testing can also be dangerous because it can harm the baby or the mother if there are problems.

I dont think genetic testing is inheretly bad since it is just a security for the parents to know if any deforminties may arise, but it is not necessary to know since there is really nothing you can do about it unless there is a risk to parent or child. I think there are a lot of pros expecially if you want to know chromosonal issues or even brain and spinal cord issues, but there can be false positives which give parents false hope or worries.

pros: Parents can properly prepare for high risk delivery or babies with genetic differences so they can prepare better. It gives the parents insight into the health of the future child and they can feel connected to the baby before it is born.

cons: Penetrating the babies space, possible birth/birth complications from test. You also might be upset and feel disconnected from the baby if you find out it has abnormalities.

Kennedy Gould I think it would be interesting to know but I wouldn't personally do it. I wouldn't do it because I don't know if it would affect the baby in anyway. A pro to getting the test done is finding out what gender it is to see what type of baby clothes you need boy or girl? You could also see if your baby has any problems like, would it have my scoliosis?
