I really enjoyed making the Jomon Jar because I was able to add really simple cat designs from a game that I play, and because they were simple enough geometry to make and not over design. But overall, making the vessel was really fun.

My advice for the future ceramics students is..

My advice is to take your time to work out the details you care for, but still use your time sparingly because projects still have a time limit.

All the things I learned throughout our projects..

From the first project, the animals, I learned about how to really make stuff out of clay, but I learned the rule about making the stuff hollow, along with all the other rules to making clay. In the second project, the pinch pots, I learned how to make engravings into the clay so I could get my design, I also learned to efficiently smooth my pots. Also, for my pinch pots, I was inspired by the Pokemon Beast Ball, and I managed to make decently well. In our third project, the monsters, I learned that I can't draw, and also that time is pretty limited, since I started late after missing a few days. In the fourth project, the Raku vessels, I experienced a lot more on the time being limited, but I also learned about coiling to make a good structure. For our fifth and final project, the Jomon Jars, I learned that I need to wait longer than 3 days for my vessel to dry :(, but it still made for a funny photo, and I could fix it next semester. I was inspired by the little basic Battle Cats units, since both had simple enough geometry to be considered as just circles or squares. (P.S. I am taking Ceramics 2 for the second semester, which I also recommend for any new freshman who really enjoyed ceramics 1)
