These types of things I've found make students and just kiddos in general smile. Every time I see this toy I remember my favorite activity I did in my 1st grade class. My teacher had a class Buzz toy and a matching embroidered journal. Every weekend a new student got to take Buzz home and write in the journal about their weekend adventures. The next monday we would have the student read their entry. I vividly remember that to this day and how much fun it was. This shows one of my objectives of teaching, to create meaningful connections and memories with each of your classes. In my classroom I would like to incorporate mindfulness and grounding techniques for intense situations. Also, like the family at the end, I would like to cultivate a space of safety and acceptance that would allow children to be able to feel and have emotions without fear of repurcussion.
