If investing can bring higher returns, why should you put money in a savings account at all?

Savings account is more for short purchases (vacation), which can be taken out at anytime. While an investing account is for already purchased items going for the long run and making profit off of that. Putting money into a savings account would be better for saving (hence the name) then investing where who knows if you can make money and loss it all.

How do you think you will invest your money? Which methods? What age? Percentage of future paycheck?

I would prefer to have a savings account but most likely to insist on investing. I would invest my money into stock or mutual funds. Probably start investing in my early to mid 20s. Starting early to build up the compound interest to make money faster. Possibly 5%< of my future paycheck. Enough money to live off of but still have left over to put into investing.
