Sinds een tijdje hoort Joey allerlei stemmen in zijn hoofd. Deze stemmen zeggen hem dat hij een heel belangrijk persoon is, dat God hem heeft uitgekozen en dat alleen hij de wereld kan redden van de verdoemenis. Om de wereld te redden, moet hij op een gegeven moment elke dag om exact 12 uur op de brug in het centrum staan en anderen vertellen hoe de wereld nou echt in elkaar zit. Maar de mensen die bij hem voorbij lopen negeren Joey en gaan niet in op zijn verhaal. Joey gaat in gesprek met de stemmen in zijn hoofd en deelt dat de mensen niet naar hem willen luisteren. “Dan moet je zorgen dat ze naar je luisteren, Joey! Jij bent de enige die dit kan!” krijgt Joey terug van God.
            De volgende dag staat Joey weer om 12 uur precies op de brug. Weer lopen de mensen langs hem heen zonder te luisteren naar zijn verhaal. Wanneer een jonge moeder met kinderwagen langsloopt en hem negeert, gaat er een schakelaar bij Joey om. Hij grijpt de vrouw vast en duwt haar op de grond. Hierbij breekt de vrouw haar pols en loopt zij een hersenschudding op. De vrouw begint te gillen en schreeuwen, maar Joey laat niet los. Hij MOET zijn verhaal duidelijk maken. Omstanders grijpen in en voor Joey het weet zit hij in een politiebusje.
