Hamiltons economic plan- consisting of debt assumption, the now Bank of the United States, and the new economy plan overall divided American Citizens into two now emerging parties.

Debt Assumption started tensions that divided American citizens. This was due to some people wanting all debt to be assumed and others (mostly ppl in smaller states-farmers), thinking this was unfair, believed states who had payed off most of their war debts would have to pay taxes to cover other states debts, also appalled at idea of big national gov, assumed it would shift power to urban interest. This was significant because the split on economic policy would lead to the creation of two parties- Federalists and Democratic Republicans.

Bank of the United States- joint public/priv venue, modeled after bank of England, would have Americans with funds to invest

The

In 1798 and 1799 the United States and France became involved in a undeclared war known as the Quasi war.

Cause: Federalists supported Britain during the French revolution because they were worried about the hierarchy in America disappearing (they were higher in the hierarchy, therefore keeping it gave them an advantage). The Democratic Republicans supported the French Revolution, because they wanted revolutionary action of their own as they were fed up with the federal government, and Democratic-Republican societies were located in areas where anti-British sentiment ran deep.
Effect: The French revolution increased the divide between the Federalists and the Democratic-Republicans by solidifying the titles and ideologies of each party, as the Democratic Republican society officially became the Democratic Republican Party
