While this site is not specifically education oriented, it is very educational and I turn to it for plant, insect, and garden information.  The site is run by several people who have also written well-received garden books.  Unfortunately, you have to scroll through imbedded ads, but the info is good (the compost article is excellent, for example)

They are amazing at giving relevant information that is updated.  The Master Gardener Program is also run through them and they are a great resource to actually work with the students hands-on at our garden. Definitely look for your local extension system if you have one.
