My grandmother is a deeply religious woman who has always taught me to follow the Lord. As a gift from her old church, she gave me this cross, which I hang by my bedside to remind me day in and day out to carry my cross and follow the Lord. This cross represents the anti-modern in how old is it, as well as its meaning. The words and religious meaning represent sacrifice, service, and love for others. These values are lost in modern society, where everyone's focus is themselves. This cross, to me, preserves an older way of thinking. A way of thinking rooted in faith and selflessness.
