Who: Gun control laws affect all citizens living in the United States.

What: It has become a controversial issue whether or not citizens should be allowed to own firearms, whether it be for sport, protection, etc.

When: Gun control has been an issue for decades, but has now become a more prevalent subject with numerous stories sparking controversy on the subject of gun ownership.

Where: While the main focus of my article is gun control in the US, it is also an issue in most first world countries.

Why: Some people feel that by taking away a citizens right to own a firearm, gun related crimes will dramatically decrease. Others feel that gun control simply takes away weapons from law abiding citizens who use it responsibly.

This article supports gun control, stating that while gun restriction may not stop criminals from committing crimes, it can make it more difficult for criminals to find a gun. Many guns used in crimes are legally registered.

This article is about accidents involving children and guns. Every year, children hurt others and themselves through accidents involving guns. This article states that by not having guns in the house, children are safer and run little to no risk of carelessly being injured by a gun.

I agree with you. It's hard to officially spot something, espeically with the gun rights in the constitution and all, but as least making it a bit more difficult to attain a gun is better than getting it with easier access.

This article disusses how the media rarely covers both sides of the gun control arguement. Often times, the news and websites make it seem as though gun owners are evil or irresponsible. They never look at the situation from a gun owners point of view.

This article looks at the various problems gun control simply can't solve. We already have guns. They won't just go away. It also states that although some european countries have outlawed guns, these countries tend to have a larger robbery rate than the US.

I still feel that we should keep the right to own guns. The founding fathers stated that as citizens, we have the right to bear arms. Having the government trying to take that right away from law abiding citizens is unconstitutional. Justin and Morgan brought up good points about rebellion. I don't believe that a revolution is the correct answer to this problem, I simply believe that it"s possible.

This picture definitely illustrates a major component of the anti-gun control argument very well. One thing that I feel has not been touched on enough is the debate that is really at hand in congress. That debate is not "should we outlaw firearms". The question is should we outlaw "assault weapons"(fully automatic rifles) for home use. That question is quite a bit different in my opinion. This picture features a handgun. I dont think those are really in danger at this point. Should we outlaw all guns? I say no. Should we outlaw automatic weapons? There's a pretty good argument for both sides. I'm still on the fence.

Yes owning a gun makes me safer. Does it make me untouchable to criminals; no, but if a criminal does try to venture into my house to cause harm then I have guns that will keep me safe. Having guns in my house gives me the peace of mind that I have something highly powered that I can use to protect myself in the case of an emergency.

yes owning a gun makes people feel safer because they now they have something to defend their self and family from something or someone but no it does not make you untouchable to criminals but you do have something to defend yourself

I don't think owning a gun will make you safer because there are more things in your household you can as a weapon and it will do about the same damage as a gun will. Having a gun will not protect you I feel like this because all you gone do is shoot or get shot at and what is that going to help. Owning a gun will not make you untouchable to criminals.

I think it depends on where you live in society. If you live in a bad part of town than it might be a good idea especially if you like a walk during the night. But if you if live on a good part of town, than its probably not nessissary unless you like to hunt. But confidence is the key to feeling safe. Most people that own guns are not confident in being safe.

I think it depends on who you are and where you came from. For a lot of people having a gun with them does make them feel safer, just from previous experience And bad pasts.

No, owning a gun does not make you any safer. Most criminals that would try to rob your house do not know if the people they are robbing have a gun or not, I think that owning a gun does not change the odds of having your home broken into. I think that owning a gun actually makes you less safe, the news is always reporting that your children find a parents gun and accidentally shoot some one, or a teenage starts playing with a gun and accidentally shoots some one.

Owning a Gun is a choice, for some people it can make people more safe for some people it can create more hassel. The real question is owning a gun neccessary. People have many opportunities and freedoms to choose how.they live their life and how they want to feel more comfortable whether it be a security camera, or a pistol, or a car alarm.

Owning a gun CAN make you safer. No it will not make you untouchable to criminals as you may not always be able to access it in an emergency or the criminal may be faster. Guns in the home can also be potentially dangerous if handled incorrectly or by minors. They can provide home protection if you are able to access them in an emergency and they are handled safely all the time.

Yes owning a gun does make you safer because of i was a criminal and I would be less willing to go rob a house when I didn't know if a 12-gauge could be waiting for me on the other side. When you create gun control you give the criminal peace of mind that he/she doesn't have to worry about being shot and crime rates would skyrocket

I think that owning a gun can make you safer in some situations, but I don't think it would stop someone from trying to harm you. Especially if they had a gun too. People with guns can still be hurt in the same ways that people without guns can be. They can also cause harm to people.

I do believe owning a gun makes one feel safer. The main reason I say so is because no one can control unexpected, crazy situations and it is always a good idea to prepare for the worst.

I don't think the second amendments intent was to arm American citizens with military grade weaponry, but more to allow them access to something they want. Because America was built upon freedom we want to keep it that way. But where should the line be drawn, and when does access to such weapons become too much of a threat to society

To own a gun means it was your choice to buy the gun. Which also means by being an owner of a gun you are responsible for your safety and others around you. It doesn't matter where you live in society or what your experiences have been. It is all a choice , your choice.

I feel most people do feel safer with guns. Guns allow one to be able to at least have something just in case someone were to attack you. It is unlikely that it will ever be nessacary. But guns allow people to feel like they have some type of protection. It does not make them untouchable, but at least one has a chance to survive if the attack was to occur.

Yes owning a gun does make a lot of people feel safer. But just because you own a gun doesn't mean you are untouchable to criminals. Somebody could still try to harm you even if you have a weapon on you. People should not just go around trying to hurt criminals just because they have "protection". Its just your decision on how YOU protect yourself.

For some people owning a gun wil make them feel better based on what they believe. If they feel the need to use it in a certain situation then yes, they will know they can protect themself. But will people abuse the power...

I agree that guns do make people feel safer. Yet, if the types of gun was not regulated then anyone would buy the deadlist guns out there. If someone gets very upset say someone cheated on them, they could just end up fireing their house down with a bazooka and possible injuring others. But no it doesnt really make them untouchable from criminak maybe even their family.

Citizens should have the right to own a firearm and feel safe in their home. Although it will not make them untouchable from criminals, it does give the owner an advantage.
