Business logistic is still a relatively new field of business management. It brings the new concept of coordinated management of the activities related to the transport and investing of goods. The other concept is that logistic adds value to products and services because it makes there products or services available exactly when and where they are needed by customers.
Logistic includes items, that can be goods and materials or even equipment in assets in day to day businnes but don't forget it includes informations.

The new concept of business logistics is the coordinated managment of the activities related to the transport and inventory of goods. It also adds value to products or services because it makes them available when and where they are needed by the customer.
It means that logistics is a complex process that includes all the activities needed from the disposability of goods or services.
It's the very essence of the trade and it contributes to an higher economic standard of living for us all. Once the logistics systems started developing, it became a bridge between production and market locations that are separated by time and distance.
In fact, goods are not always produced in the places where consumers want to consume them. As a matter of fact, early people could only consume in the same places where the goods were produced (by themselves).

In different regions like Africa, Asia and South America, people must rely on a handling-storage system limited to restricted and well-defined areas. This implies that they have to live close to the primary resources to ensure that they live and consume them rapidly.

At the same time, in the more developed countries, logistics is really important as it also contributes to a high economic standard of living for a lot of people. In facts, logistics is the bridge between production and market locations. Any exchange processes follow a determinated rule called “the principle of comparative advantage”, which is at the basis of international trade today.

When we go to speak of logistics, we don’t have to make refernce to a single business sector, but a managerial concept subdvided in many branches, between which there is the business logistics. Business logistics exposes us two new concepts of the business organization: the first is the “Coordinated management of activities”, instead the second claims that “Logistics adds value to products or services”. Concluding, one can conceive the logistics as a process that includes all the activities that have an impact on making goods and services available to customers.

Unfortunately this situation isn't present in some places, for example in developing nations.
