The U.S enters World War II (1941)

On December 7 1941, the Japanese launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, which was a United States Naval Base. The next day on December 8 1941, Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan, entering the U.S into World War II. The U.S also at the time was supplying Great Britain in it's fight against Nazi Germany.

The Manhattan Project begins (1942)

The Manhattan Project (Atomic Bomb) was made from Uranium and Plutonium, also having codenames for both elements (Fat Man and Little Boy) and both bombs were aided from Oak Ridge and Hanford, to Los Alamos.

In early 1943, General Groves set up a bomb design and development laboratory at Los Alamos, New Mexico with multiple scientist under the leadership of J. Robert Oppenheimer. In 1944 the scientists believed that the gun type bomb would not work for plutonium, making them turn to the theoretical and extremely complex implosion method. In 1945 The Trinity Test ushered in the nuclear age with the world's first human-caused nuclear explosion.

The US drops the atomic bomb's on Japan (1945)

On August 6 1945, the first bomb was dropped, The Uranium bomb or codenamed as the Little Boy atomic bomb, was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. 2 days later the USSR declared war on Japan, and a day later, the second bomb was dropped, the plutonium filled atomic bomb also known as Fat man, striking Nagasaki, Japan. The atomic bombs and the USSR declaring war on Japan made Emperor Hirohito announce Japan's surrender on August 14 1945.

The atomic bomb gets into the hands of the USSR (1949)

After World War II, Joseph Stalin's spies stole and delivered the secrets of the Atomic bomb to the Kremlin. On August 24 1949, the Plutonium filled atomic bomb or known as "Fat Man" was scheduled for testing at 6 am to detonate, and the scientists were feared for their life because according to them, if it didn't work, they would all be shot, but the Atomic Bomb worked, now the USSR having the plutonium filled atomic bomb in their hands, making the US and USSR a superpower after World War II.
