Hi,
The assessment criteria relates to going over the word limit. So you wont be penalised for going under the limit though be aware of ensuring you address all proforma questions etc. which you will probably require you meeting the 2500 words limit.

Yes you do need to a consent form for all participants. No need to submit but keep them as a record.

With regards to the recorded teaching session, is there a problem with having a session that is shorter than 30 minutes, for example around 20 minutes?

Hello Katherine,
We have set a 30 minute criteria as we feel this allows time for you to demonstrate your teaching abilty, give you enough material to write your  2500 word critical commentary, meet learning outcomes  (such as impact on patient care) and for students to demonstrate learning and understanding.If you feel this can be done in 20 minutes this is fine but be careful not to disadvantage yourself.

I have recorded my teaching session for 30 minutes but it seems to have been divided into 3 parts. It is still 30 minutes but just divided into 3 parts of 2 for 12 minutes each and one part for 2 mins. I used University video camera that I borrowed so I am not sure do we have to upload in youtube?

Hi Emma,
From the assessment brief it states
 'You will prepare and deliver a 30 minute teaching which will be recorded and submitted. You will then write a 2500 word critical commentary (appendix 3) that will demonstrate an understanding of the educational theories and approaches being addressed in the lesson.'
The assessment should be completed using the proforma or at least its guidelines.
