We have a few students coming in that I would love to try the timed readings with. One is a fast reading, but it would be interesting to really slow her down and see if some of the speech pattern errors are due to limited phonemic awareness or just her rushing through and not "seeing" all of the words.

I really liked understanding how the fluency test works. Even if I don't use it in my classroom, it helps me interpret what the scores mean. I also appreciated the dyslexia conversation...very helpful!

I didn't realize tone was linked to fluency. It's interesting that the speed and rate that we speak is linked to our reading ability. They mirror each other

I wonder how other teachers with five classes of 35+ manage to test their students rate. Do they rely on LAP para? I was thinking maybe I could do for everyone in the fall during the MOS time and then maybe just follow up with students of concern.
