1 The significance of the title symbolizes pressure and crime resulting in guiltiness.

2. The author calls himself nervous but not mad because he thinks that this story is okay, and he does not realize that the story is wrong. He doesn’t know he is guilty but he is really insane.  

3. The relationship between the old man and the narrator is a kind one in the day, but at night it's not because the narrator wants to kill the old man. The old man's eye is probably like that from a birth defect. 

4. I don’t think the narrator would have killed the old man because he liked the old man but he didn’t like his eye so if he didn’t have the eye he wouldn’t have been killed

5. The eye represents the narrator not liking the eye and having hatred for it, while the heart represents the old man's heart still beating under the floorboards, causing the narrator to get nervous.

6. The narrator hears the old man's heart beat. In reality, it is really his ear ringing. It starts getting louder and louder because his fear and anxiety is increasing, and he just can’t take it anymore. 

7. If it was a woman, it would’ve changed my perspective because men are capable and stronger of way more, and realizing a girl could’ve done that many things changes the story quite a bit.

8. The phrase, “LOUDER, LOUDER”, impacts the story because it shows how he is getting crazier by every minute.

I think it was his eye! Yes, it was this! He had the eye of a vulture a pale blue eye, with a film

over it.

5.The main two symbols represent the eye being an object that watches the narrator and the heart represents the emotional center in the body and the time passing by as the heart beats.

6.The sound the narrator hears is a moan of terror that gets louder and louder.

7.If the main character was a woman I think the story would be a little more surprising 

8.The narrator said louder in a line and i think it really showed his madness

2) The narrator calls himself “nervous” but not “mad” because he wants us to know that he thinks it is a good idea for him to kill the old man. By saying he is not mad, he thinks we will agree with him. When the narrator states this, it infers that he is mad, because no mentally stable person thinks it’s a smart idea to kill someone. With the narrator’s mood in the story, the way he randomly laughs and talks strangely can also infer that he is mad.

3) From what is said in the text I can infer that the relationship between the old man and the narrator was good, but the narrator didn't like the old man's eye. I can infer that the old man's eye looked like that because he was blind in that eye.

4)  No, he would not kill the old man if he didn’t have the “vulture eye.” The narrator said that he liked the man, he said the old man never wronged him [the narrator], it was just his eye that bothered him.

5) The two main symbols, the eye and the heart, both represent important parts of the story.  The eye is the whole reason for the story. The narrator killed the old man because he didn’t like his eye. The heart is important because it is how the narrator confessed his actions. When the narrator was talking to the police he heard a ringing in his ears. He thinks that this ringing is the heartbeat of the old man he had just killed. When he physically cannot take the sound of the heartbeat anymore, he confesses that he killed the old man.

6) In the story the thing that the narrator could have thought he has been hearing was the old man's heartbeat but it was most likely just ringing in his ear

7) If the narrator was a woman, it doesn’t change my interpretation of the story. I would still think she is completely crazy. No matter who narrated the story, whoever did was a very strange and mad person.

8) The line that had a repetitive word was in one of the last paragraphs. The word that was repetitive was the word ‘louder’ He keeps repeating that word in the sentence to build anticipation of what happens next.

3. He could have been injured in an accident or war and I think if they not were they became good friends and I am pretty sure that the narrator is the caretaker of him.

4.  I do not think the narrator would’ve killed the man if he did not have an evil eye because the old man’s eye greatly vexed him and his eye is the reason he killed the old man.

5. Yes, he says it gets louder of the old man’s heartbeat but not the eye but he hates it even more over time.

6. He hears the heartbeat and it gets louder. In reality, this must be guilt washing over him but he hears a heat due to him being insane.

7.  It could have changed the way they did it and maybe the way they act.

8. “A single ray of light fell upon the vulture eye.” This line is repeated throughout the story and it impacts it because the narrator is trying to kill the man because of his “vulture eye” and this eye is the whole reason the story is happening.
