The competition of achieving something first built even more tension than just normally winning something would. First orbit, first man on moon. The first to ever do something in human history is

They were each trying to prove who was better and that built tension. Kind of making them enemies.

similar to the wars they had fought against each other in, they were each trying to win. Continuing the pattern of them trying to beat each other which built tension.

3 comparisons in technology in the present to the space race:

A great example of a major impact on people, similar to the space race, is the evolution of television. When tv's first came out there were only a few channels, and a few shows to watch. Fast forward to now the movie making and overal tv industrie is massive. providing countless jobs, new careers, and overall a big impact on society as a whole.

phones are another thing that has had a major impact on humanity overall. With the introduction of phones communication with family members, news, and basically everything has drastically changed. You can now call anyone anywhere in the world at pretty much anytime you want if they pick up the phone. The ability to receive information is crazy and nothing ever seen before in human history.

Computers are another form of technology that has changed our world. It has changed schooling, mostly all lines of work, and ways of receiving information. Even right now I'm doing this assignment on a computer instead of writing in on a paper. Computers have changed how the world operates.
