The story of King Midas makes me think that the Greek culture values living things and loved ones more than wealth. My evidence is that King Midas got his wish for everything to turn to gold but his daughter preferred her real garden with its beautiful colors and smells and mostly because King Midas gave up the power to turn everything to gold in order to get his daughter back to her living form.
