Spirit and Divine nurture me...

One day I stopped to ponder the tree in depth. Not just as a tree I pass by.  Not only a place of shade. 

I had always been drawn to this tree... I love trees! The heart has always been a place of focus for me. I touch it as I pass by. I suddenly had the desire to see the tree in its wholeness. 

I began to take pictures of the tree from different angles and I immediately noticed the three major arteries of the tree. Then as a good recovering southern baptist, I realized the three reminded me of three amazing things... (like that good three point sermon) God my Holy Parent. Jesus my Holy Brother, and Spirit my Holy Guide. 

Taking the time to reflect on the tree and the Trinity helped me to reframe the entire Tree as Holy too. I adore this tree now and the process of taking these photos reminded me of the HOLINESS and the WHOLENESS of all that surrounds me.

I have been able to tap into some of the creativity that I have missed in my life. It has also stretched me as I have looked for the divine in different places and spaces.

Paying attention to moments for spiritual connection has allowed me to broaden my sense of the holy in my everyday environment. The Divine and I have been working to intersect in this way as I utilize a keener eye to help me relate my inner self in photos and a better sense of articulation through poetry. 

I have learned to sit with each photo and meditate with the phase "Holy One speak to me". Since I have utilized meditation along with this work, it has helped center me more deeply in the creativity.
