  • RFID Cards for 2022-2023
  • Staff IDs will be provided by Parsons at the time of photos. All staff are required to where their ID or have another official name badge visible when on any district location. Please encourage staff to get their picture prior to the start of the year if they do not have an ID. WHS has pictures prior to school so staff needing an ID can get their photo and ID printed on-site before the year begins.
  • We have a new safety response plan and terminology to use this year across all campuses. Training in the new system will be virtual and required for ALL employees. Sites are required to do this before school, starting as a group or by each staff member individually. Here is a link to the training. 
    • Grades PK-2 have very concise and appropriate lessons to do with students to introduce them to the response procedures.  Please distribute the introduction curriculum to distribute to PK-2 Teachers. The expectation is that staff would use the curriculum with students before any drill for that response type.  PK-2 Teacher Curriculum Doc
    • Grades 3-5 should be shown the short version of the training. Short Student Training Grades 3-5 
    • Grades 6-12 should be shown the 15min training video at the start of the year. Long Training Grades 6-12
    • Show to Know clipboards will be distributed to every classroom environment. They are red/green and initially contain the new response plan, building map, and evacuation map. YOUR EXPECTATION IS to have class rosters in the clipboards and updated MONTHLY.  There is a key ring cable in each if the teacher would like to hang the clipboard by the door of the classroom. 
      • Nothing goes under the door ever anymore...
      • For an evacuation, you would hold up the green side; if you have an issue or missing student, you hold up the red side.
      • The expectation is that rosters in the Show to Know clipboards are kept up to date.
    • ALL Sites, please recycle/dispose of ALL  old response plans
    • ALL staff will receive a poster of the SRP, map, and evacuation map.  Teachers will then be getting two sets, one in the clipboard and one in their mailbox. \
    • Please distribute the following document to all your staff with detailed information regarding the standard response plan.  ALL STAFF SRP OPERATIONAL GUIDANCE
  • Threat Assessment Training for us in our board room.  We would like all parties involved in these assessments to have the baseline training and then training every other year.  If you or your staff have not had this training in the last year, please plan to attend and also send the appropriate staff, non-260-day staff will timesheeted.

  • We have a new single sign-on partner to replace Clever this year called ClassLink. Students and staff will use it to get to sites and applications.   There is an app on the iPad and an extension on the Chromebooks to access the portal.  Chromebooks will log in using Google credentials and will see Classlink instead of Clever.
  • Technology Remote/Virtual Courses
  • Any installed Apple TV that is not connected to the WSD WiFi network will need to be adjusted. Use support tickets or the helpdesk to get the request in early.
  • Upgraded WiFi, network hardware, firewall, and power supplies were installed this summer and should provide a more reliable system for brief power outages and more robust WiFi connections.  Staff may enroll their own personal devices if they would like at https://cloudpath01.wsd.k12.wa.us

Along with new forms will be a new look for accessing them!  We are working on a new staff portal, which will have forms, plus other informational items for areas of ASB, Budget, Purchasing, Travel and others.  Stay tuned!

Finally, we are in the process of converting all schools to the InTouch receiving system, previously WHS has been the only user. This will allow parents of all students to use a single system to pay for things such as book fines, device coverage, PE uniforms, etc. It also interfaces with Follett, so any fine will be automatically added to the student's account, and it will also be automatically removed if paid or book returned.
