I used acrylic paint to make my artwork.

I used wavy,curved, horizontal and thick lines to recreate my artwork. Vincent Van gogh's art work is beautiful, brillant and calming. I tried to recreate that by blending the colours more and doing 5 to 7 layers blue to try to create some texture. It creates a more detailed artwork which is important since Van Gogh's artwork is very layered and detailed.

I think Van gogh's art work has a taste of modern and is original and realistic.

The painting Starry Night is a recreation of Vincent Van Gogh.  As a group, we created Starry Night, but each of us contributed only a part of it. Different members painted the top left, top right, bottom left and right part of a painting. I used thin and sharp lines to colour the painting using the marker, and it makes it look like the Vincent Van Gogh's style as the houses in the real painting are small and looks thin. I used acrylic paints, paintbrushes and different tools that Rao Lao Shi taught me.  I also used the Impasto technique (maybe) to create the sun. I used a mix of bright, cheerful colours and dark colours. One example for bright colours is light blue. I used it to paint the sky. On the other hand, I also used some other colours such as dark blue, red-orange, and a bit of black for the sun. For the light colours, I wanted to paint the cheerful side of me while for the dark colours, I wanted to express the feelings for Van Gogh as he was facing a very hard time in his life and he was colour blind. The white outline is used to make a sky. Although the original painting may be all dark blue, I appreciate the colour white as it has a  truely soft feeling and an i want to make this artwork lighter as I dont want it to be sad. Instead, a happier version will make the better of it. I like the curvey lines as I think and imagine of them like being up in the clouds. The imagination can go so wild with white. As it being my favourite colour, i also put somewhite to outline and white to perpously to seperate the outside from the item/ image i would like to expose. Vibrant yet light colours have always pleased me in many ways. From encouraging me and making me overcome things. The blue lines underneath the white outline is used to try to simulate the original artpiece that was given. I used crayons for the colour mix. I used orange and yellow for this. It wasnt really a good blend as you can see because I coloured the yellow very thick before drawing or making the blend.


I created my artwork in a particular way. I strated by making a layer by putting a blue and waiting for it to dry. After, I would keep painting over and over the top coat till I think it was better. I started with a really dark blue at the start and made it lighter and lighter each time I paint. My actuall intension of painting many layers was actually to try and repaint it. I ended up making a new artpeace every art lesson which till one day I found out something I was doing wrong.- I would just paint even when the bottom background paint hasnt even dried up! When I actually started remarkable artpiece, I had no choice but to use posca markers only as would just repaint after every  single art lesson. After i did it, i outlined it with white posca markers and TRIED to blend the crayons together.

I also used short and curved lines. Throughout my whole painting process, I really enjoyed recreating Starry Night.
