We opened our new unit in February 2022.

We care for a wide range of specialities including General Surgery, Vascular and Urology.

Our monitored beds allow us to care for patients who require a higher level of monitoring, and we accept patients from SAU, AED and ICU. 


We work closely alongside a wide range of the MDT and there is daily involvement of chest physio, dieticians, nutrition specialist team, colorectal nurse specialists (to name a few) for our patients to deliver the best care possible.

We strive to make sure that all our patients have been assessed to check if they are falls risk and ensure that we implement appropriate equipment if required to reduce falls.
We identify our falls risk patients by giving them a yellow band to wear, whilst considering anti slip footwear/socks, placement of patients on the ward, along with falls alarms as required.

We aimed to improve repositioning of patients and ensure that patients receive three times a day skin checks.


Our Pressure Ulcer Champions also attended the TVN Conference on the 24th November to enhance their knowledge and skills!

Through out the visit I was regularly checked on both physically and mentally and made to feel as comfortable as I could.

 

The staff on ward 2 are worth their weight on gold I couldn't be more thankful to the care I received especially since all my family were abroad at the time so I had no one to visit.'
