The sun will only shine bright for a short time, and then it will fade into darkness, just like Romeo and Juliet’s relationship. It started out as true love, but evolved into fight after fight and as the lightness of their relationship faded, the darkness came out. The hatred between these families was a ticking time bomb, just waiting for a negative outcome, such as the death of Romeo and Juliet. This shows how there’s much love in this relationship, although there seems to be something broken about it. The fact that these ‘star-crossed lover’ are rushing into things so fast  seems to be hurting everyone around them. Their love has brought so much drama and hatred between their families, and the relationships between Romeo, Juliet and their families seems to be broken, much like this dress. This dress also shows that the top half is still together and neat, probably like Juliet’s mother’s wedding was because of the time they waited. Soon after Romeo and Juliet spend the night together, they are convinced that they are in love and are eager to get married. They persuade the friar to marry them early the next morning. In this scene friar Lawrence talks to Romeo about taking his time with Juliet and their relationship and that the brightest fires burn the fastest. He also tells another inpatients will result in a tragedy. We chose this scene because it shows the audience how passionately Romeo and Juliet love each other and how fast they are rushing the relationship. We see after hardly meeting each other they make a life-changing decision of getting married. This highlights how time is being rushed and disregarded. A way to make this theme stand out is for the church that they are getting married in to have a large clock tower in the back that Romeo and Juliet stand in front of.
