Their basic rights to safety and freedom are not being protected. Steven Cousins, a local farmer and inspiration to many, helps struggling Rwandans by teaching them how to create a source of income for themselves, attempting to bring hope to others through this rough time.

This type of human right violation disturbs me the most, especially as a young female in todays world. Torture, whether physical, psychological, or emotional, completely strips someone of their dignity and leaves the victim with irreversible damage. What makes torture especially horrifying is that it usually happens to people who grasp very little power and in secret or without punishment. It can be frightening when governments allow the use of torture, because it means that they believe hurting people is okay if it helps them, and that's not right at all. P.S being tortured is my biggest fear...
