One of the negative things of this game was the pressure put on us by the timer.
A positive thing about this game was that we were able to help eachother find the numbers. We also shared our ideas and strategies after the first set of minutes.
A strategy I suggested was for each of our group members to say their color and number outloud. This allowed the next person to prepare for their turn.

This was a fun activity to do collaboratively! It allowed us to work together and help guide each other. Being on a time limit was challenging. One strategy would be to divide the rows up and assign each row to look for numbers. Overall it was a fun activity to get everyone engaged!

The 1-100 game is a good game to use in the classroom to help students work together and effectively practice problem solving strategies with their collaborative group.
The downside to doing this activity in the classroom is that the game is limited to students in “upper grade levels”. I would need to modify the game significantly for my first grade class to be able to play it.
Another activity I would suggest for the purpose of developing discussion norms among the younger grades would be creating an anchor chart as a class. We did this with my group of students, and it was a good way to discuss how discussions in class should look and sound, as well as giving the students the opportunity to explain their thoughts/feelings, while also modeling those norms during the process of creating the anchor chart.

A positive thing about this activity is that the game engages all the attention of the person playing it. A negative thing about this game is that it you don’t have a strategy, you will be stuck on your number. A strategy I suggest is that students should help each other when they can’t find their number.
