         <description><![CDATA[<div>Registration for the UCAT opens on 1 July.</div><ul><li>Candidate Testing Guides now available.</li><li>Candidates can test at a test centre or at home.</li><li>Candidates are strongly advised to test early.</li><li>Candidates testing at home may use an erasable whiteboard whilst testing; in test centres candidates will have access to noteboards and pens. All candidates may also make use of the onscreen scratchpad. </li></ul><div><br>We strongly advise you to <strong><mark>test early</mark></strong> - the ongoing impact of COVID 19 is difficult to predict but there is a potential of additional local or national restrictions in the future.  If these occur, we may have to reschedule candidates to less convenient times and locations and/or advise candidates to test at home.  The best way of avoiding this is to <strong>test early</strong>.  Additionally, for candidates still at school, it makes sense to have completed your test over the summer and be ready to focus on schoolwork when schools return in the autumn.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>27th-29th July <br><br>The programme includes sessions on Pure Maths (Number Theory), Applied Maths (modelling epidemics through a game 'zombie apocalypse' simulation, with some coding), a STEP workshop, an Admissions session with Q&amp;A, and some facilitated online interaction on a University virtual platform. The programme, "Intro to Maths at Uni" aims to address the under-representation of BAME maths and science undergraduates at Cambridge, Oxford and other highly selective universities - particularly students who identify as Black, Pakistani and Bangladeshi. There is a cap on participants, and we are asking schools to nominate Yr12 students whose ethnic background is Black, Pakistani or Bangladeshi, using contacting your coordinators in school.
