Thank you for the opportunity to gather the teaching teams and provide a framework to talk reading. We all appreciated the synthesis of reading research and how this impacts our current reading programs. We also appreciated the time spent elaborating on our plan to push reading instruction forward at SIS.

We wondered how manipulating the structure of our instructional day would reduce the cognitive overload experienced by our EAL readers?

We wondered how reducing the content and background 'curriculum' knowledge required of our readers would impact their future success?

We wondered how introducing break breaks during instructional time would improve reading outcomes?

We all agreed, we look forward to our laboratory sessions where we could unpack these and other ideas further. Thank you for taking the time to work with us and we look forward to seeing you again soon (hopefully in person).
