1. what did i do?
i created a mood board of magazines i take inspiration from and like and created a colour pallete to go wtih it.
2. how did i do it?
i first collected the images i wanted to use in my google tabs, created 16 boxes using rectangle tool, made all the rectangle tool boxes one colour, create a clipping mask of the boxes, copy and pasted (ctrl v + c) the images of the magazines and moved them where i wanted using the move tool all on adobe illustrator. i also added 2 colour palletes based on my mood board using adobe colour and copy and pasting.
3. how did it go?
i think it went very well and i liked the finished product. the magazines were easy to find and i really liked the look of it in the end.
4. what could i have done differently?
i dont think i couldve made it better, but i took a long time to finish it and i could improve on that.

The original instagram logo (created around 2010) is a polaroid camera with a tag saying "instagram" on it, referencing the purpose of instagram; posting personal pictures in an instant. In 2011, they changed it to a simpler camera, now just displaying "Insta" on it, this design was a lot better because it was more memorable than a photorealistic polaroid camera. In 2016 they changed it for the last time and completely simplified it to an ombre camera symbol. This is the current logo.

overall, iN MY Humblest opinion, I think the Starbucks logo is "better' because of its simplicity. However, I personally prefer the Costa logo, I think it shows the point of the brand better than Starbucks and the colour choice is a lot more warm and inviting compared to the cold dark green of Starbucks. Furthermore, if someone knew nothing about either brands and was told to choose, I think they would choose costa because their logo is clearer about the point of their brand

For my redesign of the Starbucks logo I brought back the old "Starbucks coffee" text, made the siren mascot slightly smaller and gave her a coffee to hold. I also changed the colour to a mintier, earthier, more welcoming and more unique green that stands out exponentially more. Apart from that I kept everything about the previous Starbuck logo (above) the same.

i manipulated both sans and serif fonts in adobe illustrator.
2. how did i do it?
i used the text tool to write sans and serif, from there changed the font to be in accordance with what i wrote, made them bigger with the free transform tool, used the pen tool to select and manipulate the sans and serif fonts and used the curvature tool to round out the edges of the fonts

okay. i found it quite difficult using the tools at first but i wuickly got it and it was skmooth sailing from there.

i think i couldve manipulated them to be more unique.

sans - sans is any font without serif
serif - serif is any font with serif. serifs are the little flicks/strokes that embellish letters.

I think Etsy is better than amazon for many reasons. First of all, Etsy uses a more complimentary, consistent and pleasing colour palette throughout its website. Amazons colour palette is extremely bright and clash-y in the LEAST iconic way possible and is quite honestly an eye sore and a half. Etsy is also, in my opinion, easier to read. Amazons' layout is extremely cluttered and makes your eyes dart around over the page rather than pulling your attention into any one or 2 things. Etsy, however, has a very clean and straight to the point homepage -- your recommended items, the search bar and trending categories. In comparison to Etsy's aesthetically pleasing, simple and easy to read homepage; Amazon looks like a hot mess of all sorts.

Personally, to improve Amazons website, I would first change the colour pallet to the same values of the orange and blue. After that, I'm changing the font to a simple modern serif and making some differentiation between what's what in terms of the images. Lastly, I would change the images to things that actually match rather than the current random mess of art, stock photos of families being happy and professionally photographed products in an orange void.

However, I would NOT change the Etsy layout, it is perfect. The ONLY thing I could possibly criticize is Etsys non-accessibility to people with Ehlers, dyslexic and stuff of the sorts because of the smaller Black font.
