The theme is responsibility. I know this because in the text the boy waits until the last minute to plough his crops. Because he did this his crops wont grow so then he will have to replant them. Yes, forgiveness is always possible it will be hard to but at one point you are going to. In life it will always be hard to forgive someone because you want to be the one right not wrong. At the end of the day your going to have to forgive that person and realize your mistake.

The moral of the folktale is to always help people no matter what. Some benefits of this story is even though you may get punished and no one watches what you are doing, always remember Allah is always watching. For example on paragraph 19 it states,” I will do anything to save the people.” This explains how much the dragons care about the people and not themselves. The dragons also made themselves into rivers so the poor people can eat.

I noticed that this story is very similar to the famous folktale, Cinderella. The story is mostly the same, minus the evil stepmother, and the magical godmother. In this version of the story, instead of a magical godmother, she is met with a jinn. In this version, she also has no evil stepmother. I think the theme of this folktale is how the four dragons sacrificed them selves to save the citizens of the town that had no rain. The text says.. "I will do anything to save the people," "then let's begin. We will never regret it," Said the long dragon." they sacrificed them selves by making them selves into rivers.

The theme of this story is forgiveness. In the text it talks about how the wife forgave her husband by, talking first and not caring about what others think about her. Also, her actions show that she is very forgiving.

"Verily, the prayer is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours." (Quran 4:103)

~Sahar~ I believe the first Quranic verse connects to “The story of the lazy boy”, because the verse explains the laziness of humans. In the story, it explains how the boy planted his plants later when weather wasn’t too good. In the Quran, Allah explains that when you waste your time doing nothing when you should do something useful. The more lazy you are, the more you forget about Allah (S.W.T)

"Verily, Salah restrains (oneself) from shameful and unjust deeds…" (Quran 29:45).

"And do not wish for that by which Allah has made some of you exceed others. For men is a share of what they have earned, and for women is a share of what they have earned. And ask Allah of his bounty. Indeed Allah is ever, of all things, Knowing." (Quran 4:32)

I believe the 2nd verse fits the most for one specific reason: it shows to not envy or be jealous of anyone because Allah (swt) is always there to help. In this story, A girl's 2 older sisters envy her due to her beauty and how perfect she is. The Quran states '"Call on me and I will answer," Ask Allah for anything you may wish for and Allah will help. Seek Allah (swt) for help, for he is An-Naseer (The Helper)

I chose this verse because they gave their life for the people that were poor in water, meaning that they have very little of water. Also Fatima Ibn Muhammad said after her prayers to Hassan ibn Ali "Give, wish and hope for other people before your self.

I chose this verse because the wife says ”husband, these are the only leaves that are dirty. You can leave the rest of them up there..” this shows the wife and the husband forgave each other later, and the husband wanted to stop but he didn’t want to look like he started the fight so he was patient with the wife to say something and end it. In the end they forgave each other.
