This story can encourage laughs along with feelings of bravery and confidence! The vocabulary and reading level included in this book is ideal for ages 3-7. If I were to use this book in a lesson plan I would definitely use it for a lesson about rhyming. This could be executed in a group, pair, or individual lesson where students work to pick out rhyming words in the story or additional words that were not included but still rhyme.

The book explains and includes pictures of different concepts of outer space like planets, starts, constellations and more on individual pages. This book is a great example to push in the children's knowledge about specific planets. This book could definitely be used to prepare students for a more in depth lesson on outer space. The book devotes a page to each individual planet and lists easily understood, but informative facts about each one. This book is great for children’s vocabulary because most of the higher level words are explained through pictures or plainly stated descriptions.

Throughout the book, the child talks about black as a color in a variety of different aspects from crayons, to black-colored objects in everyday life. The book includes so many aspects of black culture and things we associate with their history from magnolia trees, to black-eyed peas, to skillets. I would utilize this book to discuss African American culture and diversity as a whole. I think this book would set the stage for great conversation about diverse cultures or backgrounds. Overall, this book is such a well-told story that includes simplistic aspects of black culture and community and portrays them in a meaningful way.

I would use this book to set the stage for my classroom possibly early in the year. I would explain that my class is a place for inclusivity, positivity, encouragement, and confidence. This book emphasizes all of these ideals!

This book is a great lesson about the importance and reason for crying. This book has a low level of complexity but has a lesson that is great for all ages. The book uses imagery and metaphors to explain the reasoning for tears or crying. However, the overall lesson is a poetic way of explaining the importance and significance of crying. I think this is a great story to talk about aspects of literature like imagery and metaphors. Even though this is aimed towards a low complexity level, this is a great opportunity to explain those aspects of literature. This book is beneficial in many different ways and there are a variety of lessons to learn from it.

This book is a great way to introduce emotions and the importance of "feeling the feels". This can be a difficult subject for young children who may struggle with navigating their feelings or understanding that it is okay to express your emotions. This book is very thoughtful which is why I would consider it a little higher than the other books listed; however, this book is still relatively low in text complexity. I would use this book to discuss emotion and feelings. I also think the movie Inside Out would be great to pair with this book specifically.

I think there are a lot of lessons within this book but I think the biggest one is looking for the good in what seems like the bad. The book is a low reading level and is ideal for early reading. This book is a great lesson for young children to look at the glass half full. I would utilize this book to explain the life lesson that things are not always as bad as they may originally seem. This is a great opportunity to discuss with young children examples of a situation that started off as bad but turned out being really good. I think this is a very important lesson for people of all ages!

I would utilize the book to explain the importance of keeping the environment clean or the effect of pollution to our environment.

The book talks about the hard aspects of school and the difficulties of the newness of school as a whole. I think this is a great book for any child at the elementary age level beginning school. Additionally, I think this would be an incredibly sweet gift for a new student. I would use the book in my classroom to read to the students on the first day of school and have a discussion about what they think about their first day so far. Additionally, I could use this book for new students and gift it to the student as a welcome gift. As a new student in elementary school, my family and I would have definitely appreciated that.

The book talks about how the child's hair is wild, and dad is left to tame it. I think this book is a great opportunity to talk about self-love, not just about hair. The lexile level is pretty low, but there is a great lesson that any age, no matter reading level, can learn from. This book includes themes of inclusivity, confidence, and relationship building. I would use this book to have a discussion about insecurities or a discussion about confidence. Overall, this book is super popular and I definitely plan on including it in my future classroom.

This book is similar to other fictions in the set in that it reads like a story but it contains a lot of factual information. However, I love that this book emphasizes the importance of us as individuals throughout the book; it allows children to know their importance and worth despite how small we really are. I would use this book to discuss measurement, relation, and time. This book provides great vocabulary words for numerical concepts and measurements. The book includes words like big, bigger, biggest and other terms that determine objects size in relation to one another. The book also includes measurement words like years, days, seconds, and so on. This is a good introduction to time and the relation of timely concepts.

It is about a boy who can not sleep because he fears the dark and all he can think about is the unknown aspects of space.  The book includes lengthy sentences and a very complex, extensive plot line that might be difficult to initially understand; however, I do think this book would be a great bedtime story. In the classroom, however, I would use this book to discuss concepts about space. Vocabulary words like gravity, universe, and galaxy are all included in this book. It would be a great opportunity to discuss spacial concepts.

This book is a great book to introduce rhyming or even rhyme scheme for older students. I would consider this book a little bit higher on the complexity level, in comparison to most of these books, mainly because of the vocabulary. This book includes many words that would be above an early elementary understanding, but it is a great book to introduce or push in these words. I would use this book to talk about rhyming words with younger children but I believe this book could also be used with older children or students to discuss rhyme scheme or patterns.

I think this book series is great for young children and families. This book series is always a hit for young children, specifically girls. This book has a relatively low level of complexity and meaning. Additionally, young children naturally are interested and inclined to enjoy to this series of books because of their color pallet. I would use this book for confidence and imagination purposes rather than educational or informative. However, these ideals are very important to teach and model for young children. I think this book would be great for discussing imagination and I would do a read through and have children discuss what is real and what is imaginary. Overall, I think this series is great and it is evident why they have grown increasingly more popular through the years.

This book is very sweet and is commonly used for a variety of reasons in classrooms today. I would say this book is likely the most complex I have used in this padlet so far. This book includes high level words and a pretty complex plot line. Additionally, this book includes Spanish words, which is a great opportunity for language expansion, but can confuse young readers. I would use this book to discuss imagination, the importance of reading and writing, and to push in Spanish words. I think this book offers a great opportunity to expand children's language and vocabulary. Additionally, children would likely find learning Spanish words and phrases very interesting which I feel like would keep them very engaged when reading the book.

This book has little to know educational value but I do have a very good reason for including this and how I would utilize it in the classroom. This book is both low and high level of complexity because it essentially involves the reader saying funny phrases like, "I'm a silly, crazy, stinky monkey" and word jumbles that are difficult to read like, "Wallawallabingbongbang" that sound funny to read aloud. I was introduced this book when I was observing in a classroom one day. The teacher explained to me that she always leaves this in the substitute plans for her to read in the morning. I think this is such a great idea because it intrigues the children, the day starts on a light note, and it makes everyone feel more comfortable from the start. I will 100% have this book in my future class and will always leave it for my substitutes to read on days that I am not there. This first book just introduces Madeline and her life in Paris. She lives in a house with 12 other school girls and their keeper. This book is a pretty low reading level, but some of the plot lines or aspects included in the series could increase the complexity level. These books all include historical figures and monuments that represent France and the city of Paris. I would use this book and the rest of the series to talk about French culture and monuments. I would create a lesson to increase the children's cultural and diverse knowledge of Europe, but specifically Paris. I would point out and educate the children on aspects like the Seine River, Eiffel Tour, and even general aspects like French architecture.

He struggles a lot and his dad thinks he isn't good at anything, but Leo's mom isn't worried about him. This book is a low complexity level but the lessons and meaning derived from this book are ageless. I think this book is so awesome and any age can learn a lesson from it. First, I think the most important lesson is everyone moves at their own pace. Second, comparison is the thief of joy. Lastly, we are all made differently but wonderfully. I think all of these lessons are super important for young children, especially at the age when they begin testing or begin being compared amongst their peers. As a teacher, it is our responsibility to maintain a consistent level of patience and kindness with each student, always. I would use this book to remind that of myself and of my class.

This book would be great for young children, especially in a topic of diversity. This book is mildly complex because of some vocabulary and the deep level of understanding and respect necessary to gain meaning from this book. However, I feel that the importance of this book for young children trumps the complexity that may be above their level. This book is great to create a culturally aware classroom as well as a classroom of inclusivity and love for one another. I think there are endless ways this book could be used in the classroom but I would specifically use it to make a foundation for an inclusive classroom. I love this sweet book and will 100% include this in my future classroom.

The book discusses different physical features, abilities, backgrounds, and more. This book does not have overly complex vocabulary, but it does have a moderate amount of words on each page. However, I would not say this book is significantly higher in complexity than the others. I would use this book to have a conversation and lesson about the differences amongst my class. I would divide children in randomized small groups and make them find one similarity and five differences between the group. I think this would help them realize that we are all much more different than the same. I think this activity would help the children embrace and appreciate their differences!
