         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hilton Hotels &amp; Resorts is Hilton's flagship brand and one of the largest hotel brands in the world.The target audience for this brand is business and leisure travelers, major urban center ,airport, conference centers and popular holiday destinations around the world. The original company was founded in 1919 by Conrad Hilton. Hilton Kuala Lumpur is a 5-star business hotel. It is a part of a hotel chain of Hilton Hotels &amp; Resorts.The Hilton Hotel in Kuala Lumpur is located in the vibrant KL regional center, which consists of 35 stories and is 1.54 meters high. The hotel is known to be the 43rd highest building in Malaysia. Hilton Hotel Malaysia has received more than 100 awards since it opened in 2004 include Best Business Hotel in Kuala Lumpur at the Business Traveler Asia Pacific Awards 2012. The Hilton Hotel's innovative restaurant, smart design, sincere hotel service aim for the commitment to a global community and to make travelling easier.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Maslow’s Hierarchy that is found in Hilton Hotel, Malaysia.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Based on the famous Maslow’s Hierarchy, the bottom of the hierarchy is the physiological needs. Maslow identified the core physiological needs to sustain human life as air, water, food and sleep. To perform their jobs, workers require healthy air to breathe, water to keep their systems hydrated, sustenance to fuel their bodies and adequate time to rest and recuperate between shifts, including regularly scheduled breaks.</div><div> </div><div>The second level of the hierarchy is protection and security. As a well-known hotel in the industry, Hilton Hotel has spend a lot on vigilance and management software to ensure every employee have a safe environment to work in. Other than CCTV on every corridors and lifts, there are also safety deposit box, first-aid kits, etc.</div><div> </div><div>The third level of the hierarchy is love and belonging. This level is about improving relationships such as friendship, intimacy, family, and etc. This level includes all common areas in the Hilton Hotel where employees can interact with each other or with clients, notably through recreational parks, designated smoking areas, relax and chill-out pub. The Facebook page, Twitter, Instagram and other social media sites of Hilton Hotel Malaysia are considered as one of the elements here as they are a platform for hotels and employees to consolidate relationships on a reciprocal basis.</div><div> </div><div>The forth level of the hierarchy is esteem. It represents those needs related to the feeling of being respected and gain recognition. In other words, it is about getting attention, value, reputation, status, dignity, fame, control, etc. Hilton Hotel Malaysia have a blog and an optimized website (http://www3.hilton.com/) so that the hotel gains visibility, authority and recognition. Social networking sites have played a major role these days in spreading any kind of awareness in a public setting. Geographic location may also contribute to generate confidence, in where Hilton Hotel Malaysia is located beside KL Sentral, which can be easily accessed by other parts of the country.</div><div> </div><div>The final stage of Maslow’s Hierarchy is self-actualization. This is about the personality and the philosophy of the hotel’s managers. Depending on the attitude and personal drive of the person in power, the strategy of the hotel establishment will aim at covering certain needs or not. The Hilton's newly appointed regional general manager for Malaysia and the current GM for Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Jamie Mead, has a hospitality career spanning 18 years and always providing the best for his clients.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Based on the recruitment and selection process of Hilton hotel, Malaysia, there are 3 steps to this process. This includes screening, completing an application employment test and also initial interview</div><div><br>First is screening. This means that they will go through a list of people to see and eliminate those who have not achieved the minimum requirement for the job position that is required (mathis et al, 2008). After screening is the application employment test. This is where candidates would be eliminated if the candidate fail to properly fill in the application (dhariwal, 2012). The purpose of the employment test is to check a candidate’s intelligence level and other attributions to see if they match the job position at Hilton hotel. This stage, the initial interview stage, will result in some candidates in being eliminated if the candidate fail to address the expectation of the interview panel (lynn, 2015). </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>i) <strong>Virtual Teams</strong></div><div>A virtual team is a group of members who count on technology such as wide-area networks, videoconferencing, fax, email, or web sites to collaborate online with members from different country in order to hold online conferences without face-to-face meetings. Virtual teams allow companies to get the best talent without geographic restrictions. With many different hotels and resorts around the world, Hilton's ability to communicate across the globe has been a great help to the organisation .They communicate with each other to keep their goals clear and avoid misunderstandings, because team building and teamwork are critical and key elements to Hilton Hotel. For example, Hilton has a H360 Community website that has the ability to connect team members worldwide. The H360 Community website has a system that shows the percentage of active team members and the degree of participation in the internal site. Furthermore, Hilton announced worldwide on the fourteenth of July, 2015 that it plans to hire 500 full-time and part-time employees, work-from-home positions to provide inbound reservation support through Hilton Hotel reservations and customer care services. They can do their job through the communication technology to communicate with others members. These jobs are ideal for college students and full-time parents, military spouses, retiree is the as they need more flexibility and freedom. This can also help them get income from the comfort of their home as well as to enjoy a better work-life balance.</div><div><br></div><div>ii) <strong>Self-managed work teams</strong></div><div>Self-managed work teams defined as a self-organizing and semi-autonomous small team, whose members have decided to plan and manage their daily activities and duties in the absence of or without supervision as well. Hilton Hotel has a human resources and training departments in their company. It relies on experienced learning and development team to provide first-class hotel training and focus on providing the highest level of service for the guests. The Hilton management service has a wealth of employment benefits and salary knowledge, and has established a comprehensive hotel training library in all relevant fields, including customer services. To ensure that all activities are fully aligned with their brands, the regional training managers collaborate directly with the attributes they manage. With these training, they can manage their own work themselves.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>i) <strong>Tap your employee networks in recruiting candidates</strong></div><div>This means that the employer would be able to have a line of employees waiting to work for them through their existing employees. This method could also be through word-of-mouth, where the existing employees would be able to talk to their unemployed friends and recommend this job for them. Through this way, the organisation is able to hear from their employees about which candidate is the best for a certain job. With this, they would make less of an error as compared to a randomised pick and this would also save them some time from having to schedule a face-to-face interview. </div><div><br></div><div>ii) <strong>Internship</strong></div><div>This method would include a partnership with several universities. Students who are interested would apply to work part time. This would give the employer an insight on whether to employ this student in their company when they have finished their education or not. Through internship, the organisation would be able to see how the candidate work and how well they carry out instructions without having to permanently have them in the organisation. In this way, they would be able to see if they want the candidate to be a permanent employee in the organisation or not.</div>]]></description>
