Surah Al-Dhariyat (51), verses 56-57:

Allah is saying that the main reason He created humans and jinn is for one purpose: to worship Him

By worshipping Allah sincerely and consistently, we start to gain inner wisdom (hikmah). Worship shapes our character, clears our heart, and connects us to the purpose of life.

1. Salah  – Prevents Sin and Evil

Surah Al-Ankabut (29:45):

"Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing"

• Salah builds a strong connection with Allah, reminds you of what’s right, and keeps you away from bad behavior.

2. Sawm (Fasting) – Builds Taqwa

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:183):

"Fasting is prescribed for you... that you may become righteous ."

• Fasting teaches control over desires, patience, and mindfulness of Allah.

• 3. Zakah – Purifies Wealth and Soul

Surah Al-Tawbah (9:103):

"Take from their wealth a charity... to purify them and cause them increase"

• Giving zakah cleans the heart from greed and makes you more generous and socially aware.

4. Hajj – Teaches Discipline and Respect

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:197):

"The Hajj is [in] well-known months, so whoever has made Hajj obligatory, there is [to be for him] no sexual relations, no disobedience, and no arguing"

• Hajj trains you to practice patience, humility, and respect under pressure and in a global community.

How to Develop Khushu’ in Salah

• Learn the meanings of the words in Salah.

• Pray slowly and calmly, without rushing.

• Choose a quiet, clean space free from distractions.

• Make a proper wudu to mentally and spiritually prepare.

• Focus your heart , remind yourself that you are standing in front of Allah.

• When you pray with Khushu’, you are showing full obedience to Allah.

• Khushu’ means your prayer isn’t just a habit but it’s a sign of real submission and love for Allah.

2. Al-Jihad (الجهاد) – Struggle in the Path of Allah

• It’s not always easy to stay focused in prayer because your mind wanders.

• Salah with Khushu’ shows you’re fighting to keep your heart close to Allah.

3. Muhasabah (المحاسبة) – Self-Reflection

• Khushu’ helps you think deeply during Salah, about your actions, your sins, and your goals.

• This inner reflection is Muhasabah, checking yourself before Allah.

4. ‘Iffah (العفة) – Modesty & Purity

• Khushu’ brings clean thoughts, a pure heart, and respect for Allah

• Salah with Khushu’ strengthens your modesty and inner purity.

5. Tawaddu’ (التواضع) – Humility

• When you bow and prostrate in Salah, especially with Khushu’, you are showing that you are nothing without Allah.

• This feeling of smallness before Allah is true humility (Tawaddu’).

• Fasting teaches you to control your hunger, anger, and desires.

• This builds strong patience, the ability to stay calm and steady.

2.Takrim (التكريم) – Respect & Deference

• When you fast, you become more aware of how you treat others.

• Fasting reminds you to honor others and act with dignity.

3. Rahmah (الرحمة) – Friendliness & Compassion

• When you feel hunger, you understand the pain of the poor.

• This grows compassion and kindness in your heart.

• Fasting makes you softer, more caring, and more generous to others.
