1. I think the strengths of my advert is that the word 'kills' has a smoking affect and the size of it stands out. Also the fact that everything is black and white apart from the cigarette which shows that it is the cause of the deaths. It's very different comapred to the other advert which is full of colour.

2. I think it could be improved by making the colours more sharp instead of soft so it would give a more harsh effect.

3. They both communicate the message clearly because mine uses facts and information where as the other uses a detailed image to disgust the viewers.

4. The written and visual language is both adverts are similar because a main image is used as a background with some writing on top - but not too much text, which makes them quite similar. The difference between our images is that the other advert is very gory.

5. The symbolic language has been used in my advert because the picture indicates 'smoking kills'.

6. I think the communication is quite effective because both adverts clearly tells and shows that if you carry on smoking you will get seriously ill and die, it is said and shown in a simple way so it is easy to understand.

I worked in the studio taking practise photos which I believe went well and I learned how to make different types of photos with different lighting.

I think my advert ideas are good, however I will need to work on and improve the sketches more to make them look better and more realistic.

Hopefully by next week I will have completed, or nearly completed my 3 adverts. I will have to come in on my study days to do this.
