A deliberate compromise between the specialization required in some national systems and the breadth preferred in others.  The Diploma Programme is highly regarded for entry to university education throughout the world. IB students routinely gain admission to some of the best known universities in the world. Most of these institutions have established recognition policies for the IB diploma.
