Jason's mind is in control of the situation, he has a narrowed minded approach. He's so desperate to get back home that he's been becoming emotionally attached to the alternate people in his life (mostly to Daniela). He's not looking at everything from a completely logically perspective, therefore causing the people he love (while they're not the real ones) to die. Even though the realities they end up in are related to what they are thinking, they are not given exactly what world they wanted. When we compare everything that happened between normal Jason and Jason 2.0, I think it is safe to say he didn’t find the experience of this second reality positive or pleasing whatsoever, since it wasn’t his ideal reality. So why would sharing another new reality with Amanda be any better, considering how they have different ideas of a reality? In addition, Amanda even stated how she liked her idea of a reality. When Amanda described her reality, Jason asked, "'Was all this in your head"' and Amanda responded with: "'Not consciously, but it all feels right somehow, like a half-remembered dream"' (Page 191). Jason then mentioned how it was a great reality, but it wasn't his home, "it isn't even close" (Page 191). Clearly, he could not fit into Amanda's world, therefore they would not be happy sharing a reality together. Also, this is concerning just one idea of a reality.
