June 1914: Assassination

June 28th, 1914, Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated. This was the spark of World War I. His death directly resulted to the war beginning.

July 1914: Ultimatum

Austria presents Serbia with an ultimatum. They have to get rid of the assassins and get rid of all anti austrian literature in 48 hours, or else they will invade.

July 1914: Invasion

Austria invades Serbia, but Serbia was ready. Since Austria gave a warning, Serbia was ready for an invasion and counter attacked.

July 1914: Russia on the Move

August 1, 1914: Germany Mobilizes

August 2, 1914: Germany Declares War

Germany declares war on Russia. On the way to Russia, Germany invades Poland to get through to them.

August 3, 1914: Germany Attacks France

Germany declares war on France. They already had premade plan if they were to ever invade France. They would invade through Belgium due to its flat land.

August 4, 1914: Wars Break Out

Germany declares war on Belgium and invades it. Germany expects a quick battle with Belgium to get to France. England also declares war on Germany.

March 1917 Nicholas II abdicates his throne

Nicholas II wants nothing to do with Russia anymore, he abdicates his throne. Russia also becomes the Soviet. Lenin and the Bolsheviks take over.

March-May, 1917: Britain Blockades Germany

Britain doesn't allow products to leave or enter Germany. Germany responds with destroying all boats heading to British shores.

May 7th, 1915: Sinking of the Lusitania

This ship sunk very fast, there were no life boats, and most people died. There was no confirmation of what happened, but explosions so large suggests that there were guns and other supplies on it to help Britain.

1916: Woodrow Wilson runs for office

April 6th 1917: US Declares War

March 1917: Russia and Germany make peace
