Tik Tok Dance Routines

I know this has been the "hype" for a good amount of time now but I feel like Tik Tok has fallen out of the social media limelight. I haven't seen kids running around trying to snag a dance video in the middle of the hallway like when I first started at Hewlett High School. I don't know which part was more interesting, the music that they would be dancing to or the dance itself. Back in the day on the disco floor is where the dance moves really came to life and there was actual rhythm and style in the dances. But who am I to say something about dancing when my wife always tells me that I have no groove and no rhythm when we dance. I don't think I'd be any good at dancing for Tik Tok because I may just not be "hip" anymore.

Country Music

I think that country music is a genre of music that brings a great deal of emotion out of people when listening to it. I mainly believe that the lyrics around heartbreak and social gatherings are relatable for all listeners regardless of their demographic. Even though I was born and raised in a city, I still feel like I have a connection to country singers from the rural South because of how they sing their songs. I'm not a great singer but if I were, I think I would be a country rockstar

Super Bowl

The Super Bowl this year between the Eagles and Chiefs is gearing up to be an explosive offensive matchup. From Jalen Hurts, Devonta Smith, Miles Sanders and the entire Eagles offensive line, it's difficult to envision any defense holding them to less than a few touchdowns. And on the opposing side, the Chiefs, the powerhouses of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Marquez Valdez-Scantling create for a difficult offense to cover down the field. But above all else in this game, there's only one thing that's going to walk away undefeated: the spread of food at this party I'm going to; wings, mozzarella sticks, chips and dip, burgers and fries, mac n cheese, and nachos. I'll most likely be in a food-coma by the 3rd Quarter of the game and I won't even get to see who wins.

What am I going to major in?

College is overwhelming. An unprecedented amount of freedom and time that I never was used to growing up, I learned quickly that it takes discipline and focus to do the right thing when away at school. Having to balance an academic, social, and extracurricular life all at the same time can become pretty close to an impossible task. Taking prerequisite and university-mandated courses that need to be taken can feel like a hassle but actually can lead you to learn more about yourself than you would have thought. Between these courses and department chairs trying to convince you to join their major, it can truly be a difficult decision. Personally, I first majored in Graphic Design and was in that major for two years before falling back in love with poetry and switching my major to English. There's no rush to decide what your major will be as soon as you get to college, because you may come to find out that your true "calling" is somewhere that you least expected it to be.
