Hi, my name is Ms. Laura Mainiero! I am a Lehigh Valley native and a graduate of IUP ('08) and Drexel ('17). This is my 16th year teaching. I previously taught 9th-10th grade English and journalism in Allentown. I began teaching 10th-grade English and theatre at Liberty in 2015.

In addition to my love for reading and writing, I have a passion for traveling. So far, I have visited Australia, Vietnam, Japan, Iceland, China (where I taught at a summer camp), Ireland, England, Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Vatican City, Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. I am going to Paris this March!

One of my other loves is my twelve-year-old dachshund-yorkie named Neville Longbottom.

What goals do I have for this class?

I am hoping to pass on a love of literature and writing. I plan to challenge my students to think critically and creatively, and to develop skills that will prepare my students not only for the Keystone Exams, but to become better thinkers and learners.

I am the fall play director and advise Operation Smile, an organization that raises money to provide cleft palate surgeries.
