Late work will only be accepted under certain circumstances (documented sickness), and points may be deducted for any late work accepted.

Complete all course work and assignments in the time allowed. If you cannot get an assignment done by the due date, please email me as soon as you can with the reason. Late work will be accepted with a late penalty. The following penalty schedule will apply to assignments and discussions:

For a submission more than 3 days late, but less than 8 days: 5 points will be deducted.
For a submission that is 8 days late, but less than 25 days: 10 points will be deducted.
For a submission more than 25 days late, it will only be accepted at my discretion, and if accepted will have 15 points deducted

In my experience, academic misconduct most often occurs because students are unaware of how to properly cite sources, or because students become overwhelmed and desperate. If you are concerned about how you are doing in this course, please come speak with me instead of considering academic misconduct. You are very capable of meeting my expectations for this course

It’s helpful for me and your peers to see you during our class meetings. Please turn on your video if you are able to do so. When using video, please either use one of the virtual backgrounds provided by the University, or ensure that your background is in compliance with our expectations for course conduct (e.g., no offensive or obscene images or language). If you are unable to turn on video, or if you find you experience internet connectivity problems when your video is on, you are welcome to leave it off. If you need to leave your video off, please consider uploading an image of yourself instead, if possible. This will help me get to know you.

To be successful in this class, you need to do two things: 1) Show up to the class (=login to Cougarview and complete assignments) and 2) Communicate. Sometimes, we encounter bumps on the road unexpectedly and throw us off course. Seeking help and guidance is a smart and effective learning strategy. Contact me via email if you find yourself in one of those moments, so that we can decide together what's the best way to help you finish the course/work and find available resources. Throughout the term, I will provide concrete feedback for improving your writing and connect you with tools and resources that will support your efforts to do well in this course. This course format will require a significant commitment of your time. In addition to viewing lecture videos for each Module, you are responsible for completing discussions, practice assignments, and quizzes for each Module in CougarView. Work preparing your projects will require some time prior to due dates.
