This was my first book. I had never written a book before that, and I didn’t know the way the publishing industry worked. I didn’t realize that everything you see on the inside of a book — all the writing, all the contents, all that kind of stuff — that’s what the author wants to share with the world,” (Moore). 

Explanation: Moore reminisces of a time when he wrote his first book and was not sure how the publishing process worked. This is an inspirational personal anecdote because it helps the audience understand that even someone as accomplished as a published author, started off small. One could take away from listening to Moore’s speech that it is difficult in the beginning, but it becomes easier after you become more experienced.

Elie is stating that all human beings have equal rights no matter what background they come from.  A person can't judge a person based on those things.  We are all one big family that needs to respect one another.  We are all worthy of something greater than we imagine.

The purpose of Wiesel’s was to make the audience want to advocate for others and celebrate human life. Moore is trying to convey a message of do-goodness with a somewhat gentle tone.
