This project is suitable for children who lives in the countryside. We’d like to show advantages : living near the nature, protection of environment, respect of traditions. But- if we want, we have all the world near- via internet. I would like to find another teachers who work in a countryside from European Union. I think that eTwinning is perferct for my ideas- for share our experiences, drawings, videos about living in a countryside. Villages in Europe are not the same. I would like to show an interesting agriculture facts- maybe cultivation of different plants or breeding farm animals. I think about visiting local farmers and preparing some short interviews about their hard work. From another side living in the country is quite different that living in a big city. Everybody knows each other. They all cultivate local traditions: holidays, food, songs, language (dialect). I think that the most interesting are villages located closed to the borders of the country. I mean places with multicultural history and traditions. For example in Siliesia we see a lot of different influences: from Poland, Germany and Czech. Students who will take part in the project are going to choose their favourite songs in English, translate them and prepare some tasks concerned with vocabulary and expressions used in chosen songs. Then they will exchange their exercises with parter schools. That way they will be able to improve their English. They can also make a video with the presentation of the song, or they can present the bands or singers of the songs.

It would be based on principle- we write short legend or myth concerning Slovakia and the task of our partner will be the creation of illustration and create the dictionary with paintings of the key words from the text, etc. The result of our project will be book (it can be e-book) consisting of legends and myths. In the end of project we would like to visit our partner school and they can show us the places that are subjects of the book.

“The taste of Pi pie” 

The idea of the project is to prepare a birthday party for the Pi number. As the number is about 3.14 the party in each school would take place on 14th March (3.14 in American English). To prepare the celebration students focus on the concept of a circle in various school subjects (not only in Maths).  There are traditional children’s games in each country which you play in a circle. Children walk or dance around and sing a song or say a rhyme. Why don’t you teach us your game and we can teach you ours in the native languages? We can record films showing how we play and upload them at eTwinning. A Skype conference can be organised for children to learn from each other about traditional games played in a circle.

My students are 5-14.
