My host is pretty chill and I have set expectations higher as we have gone throughout the year with the more control I have taken. Letting students know that I know they are ALL capable of learning the material and reaching the goals and they are ALL able to get what we do in class done has really helped build that relationship while still having a good relationship. I for sure still struggle with being too chill though.

I want them to like me. They were all whispering about it at the start of the next class which made me even more concerned that I had ruined our good rapport. Fortunately, the period went on and the mood improved.
